Ravens Fantasy Football Rankings & Advice for Josh Johnson, Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews & Devonta Freeman

Fantasy football managers are now accustomed to adjusting to third-string quarterbacks, but now that it's playoff season the decisions are even more important.

That means anyone rostering key Baltimore Ravens players like Devonta Freeman, Marquise Brown or Mark Andrews were left scrambling when news broke late this week that not only is Lamar Jackson out but backup Tyler Huntley was added to the COVID-19/Reserve list, too.

What does that mean for anyone rostering the main skill players as the team turns to journeyman Josh Johnson?

After not playing in an NFL game since 2018, Johnson appeared in a game earlier this season for the New York Jets in relief of an injured Mike White. He completed 65% of his passes for 317 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. The Jets lost 45-30.

He spent the 2020 season in the XFL and the 2019 season in the Alliance of American Football.

The offense didn't miss much of a beat when Huntley took over for Jackson. Baltimore beat the Bears earlier this season without Jackson and covered the spread against the Packers and Browns.

Andrews and Brown both caught 10 passes from Huntley, with Andrews going for 136 yards and Brown 47. The two combined for 27 of the team's 39 targets.

One of the biggest differences between Johnson and what Huntley and Jackson have brought to the offense is the running game. Huntley has rushed for 40, 45 and 73 yards in his three starts this season. Johnson has topped 40 yards rushing twice since 2011 and his career high is 49 yards.

It might not be as seamless of a transition between Huntley and Johnson as it appeared it was from Jackson to Huntley. But it might not be a red alert for managers of Baltimore's top targets.

According to our consensus fantasy rankings compiled by experts Sean Koerner and Chris Raybon, Johnson is actually worth consideration depending on the league.

Johnson comes in as QB21, ahead of Ben Roethlisberger, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson and more. In a two-quarterback league, Johnson seems worthy of a spot depending on your situation.

In other words, this isn't Tim Boyle.

Andrews is TE4 with a bump to TE3 in any leagues that account for receptions.

Freeman is RB32 as he shares duties with Latavius Murray. That has him ahead of other running backs stuck in a timeshare like Tony Pollard and Jordan Howard.

Finally, it appears Brown may take the biggest hit with the quarterback change. He's outside of the top 30 receivers in standard scoring leagues, according to our experts.
