The Saints opened as 6.5-point road favorites over the Panthers and 63% of bets are on New Orleans. However, 55% of actual dollars wagered on the spread have taken Carolina, explaining why the line has dropped to -6.

The under has also attracted plenty of attention, forcing oddsmakers to drop the total from an opener of 54 to 50 across the betting market.

We'll update this post throughout the day until the game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET.

8:18 p.m. ET: The spread closes at Saints -6 with a total of 50.

8:12 p.m. ET: This total doesn't seem to want to settle, as it's back up to 50 in the final minutes before kickoff.

8:06 p.m. ET: The total has hit a new Monday low, reaching 49.5 for the first time since yesterday.

7:40 p.m. ET: Continuing the pattern, the total has fallen back to 50.

6:56 p.m. ET: A back-and-forth pattern has begun with the total, which is now moving back up to 50.5.

6:54 p.m. ET: It only took a minute for Panthers action to bring that line back to +6.

6:53 p.m ET: It's been a couple hours since we've seen a spread shift, but the Saints are now back to a 6.5-point favorite.

6:39 p.m. ET: The line fall on the total has continued, as the number is now back to an even 50.

5:37 p.m. ET: Apparently 51 was a tad too high, as the movement has changed directions and fallen back to 50.5.

5:05 p.m. ET: The total movement continues, as it's now up to 51.

5:04 p.m. ET: The point spread has fallen back to Saints -6 — where it's been listed for much of the day.

4:53 p.m. ET: For the first time today, the total is on the move, rising up to 50.5.

2:46 p.m. ET: For the first time since very early Sunday morning, the Saints have moved to 6.5-point favorites over the Panthers.

12:07 p.m. ET: The vig has flipped from Saints -6 (-105) to -6 (-116). This reveals that books have taken more New Orleans action so far today.

7:39 a.m. ET: The point spread remains at Saints -6, but the vig has been adjusted to -105, suggesting that the next move may be off the key number of 6 and down to 5.5.
