The Seahawks will take on the 49ers in the NFL playoffs. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. EST at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA. The game will be broadcast live on FOX. Here's everything you need to know about Seahawks vs. 49ers odds, the latest NFL spreads, NFL over/unders, and more.

The Seahawks opened as -7.5 point favorites over the 49ers. The total is set at over/under 45.5 total points on Fanatics Markets. The over is priced at 50 cents, while the under is slightly favored at 52 cents.

Seahawks vs. 49ers Betting Preview

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have a very interesting outlook this postseason. Seattle lost 21-19 to the Rams on the road in mid-November to fall to 7-3, but won seven straight games (including a revenge victory against Los Angeles) to climb to 14-3 and clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

But will the bye actually help Seattle? The Seahawks closed the season with so much positive momentum that time off might have been the worst thing that could have happened to this team.

In their final game of the season, the Seahawks' defense dominated, as it did throughout most of the second half of the season. Seattle only gave up 12.5 points per game over the final six games of the season, and of the 75 total points the defense allowed in that span, 37 of them came in an overtime shootout against the Rams.

Most importantly, one of those games was against San Francisco. The 49ers mustered up just three points at home against Seattle with the division on the line. The Seahawks grinded out 13 points of their own to win the game and claim the NFC West, along with the No. 1 seed.

If the Seahawks play the way they did in the second half of the season, there aren't many teams capable of competing with them, but the time off adds the potential for a bit of rustiness into the equation.

San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco had won six straight before losing to Seattle to end the regular season. However, the 49ers immediately bounced back with a 23-19 road victory against the Philadelphia Eagles to open the playoffs.

San Francisco's quarterback situation has been a major discussion point as the 49ers went 7-2 in the regular season with Brock Purdy starting, and just 3-2 in Mac Jones' five starts.

Despite Purdy's 10 interceptions in his nine starts, you can tell the San Francisco offense is much more versatile when Purdy plays. Purdy was also able to throw for 277 yards and two touchdowns in the 49ers' Week 1 victory against Seattle. On the other hand, Purdy threw for just 127 yards and one interception in the season finale against the Seahawks.

San Francisco ran into a Seattle team that had been getting better as the season progressed, and the 49ers looked completely overmatched on offense when it mattered the most. San Francisco's defense held up fine, giving up just 13 points in each of the matchups with Seattle this season, but the challenge will be getting the offense going in a tough road environment against one of the NFL's best defensive units.

Seahawks vs. 49ers Pick

These teams are very familiar with each other, and there are plenty of reasons to believe this game, between divisional opponents, will be close.

The spread has the Seahawks at -7.5, but even in the 13-3 win, it felt like Seattle could have won by a lot more, and that gives me some pause in terms of backing the Seahawks to cover. Both teams are fine with grinding out close games, especially in this specific matchup.

These teams scored just 46 combined points in two matchups against each other in the regular season, and I don't see a reason why the 49ers and Seahawks will match that output in just one game.

As a result, my best bet is to back the defenses and bet on the under.

My Pick: Under 45.5 Total Points
