The 2024–25 NHL season concluded with a range of suspensions and fines issued by the league. The Florida Panthers recorded the highest total financial penalty of the season, with $1,847,340 in fines across five infractions.

This total was largely the result of a 20-game suspension for defenseman Aaron Ekblad, who forfeited $1,829,268 due to a performance-enhancing drug violation. Additional fines for the Panthers included suspensions and misconduct penalties issued to Jesse Puljujarvi, Niko Mikkola, and Sam Bennett.

The Minnesota Wild had the second-highest total at $390,243, stemming from a single infraction. The Edmonton Oilers ranked third with $250,489 across four recorded infractions.

Florida Panthers: Champs of Fines

The Florida Panthers topped the NHL’s fine chart in 2024–25, racking up a staggering $1,847,340 in penalties across just five infractions. That’s nearly five times more than the next team, the Minnesota Wild.

This eye-watering number is largely due to Aaron Ekblad, who was suspended 20 games for a performance-enhancing drugs (PED) violation, costing him $1,829,268 — the biggest single fine of the season by far. Add in smaller fines for teammates like Jesse Puljujarvi, Niko Mikkola, and Sam Bennett, and Florida's discipline tab reads like a team-wide cautionary tale.

A total of 32 teams received fines during the season, with the lowest being the Chicago Blackhawks at $3,385.

Edmonton’s Connor McDavid was fined $195,312 following a three-game suspension for cross-checking.

Additional fines ranged from minor infractions, such as embellishment and boarding, to further suspensions for various illegal checks and conduct violations.
