New York's defensive metrics certainly don't stack up, but it does not need to for two reasons.
First, Seattle's offense is not a threat. Second, goaltender Ilya Sorokin is slated to start between the pipes for the Islanders, and he is more than capable of handling whatever is thrown his way. No stranger to dealing with New York's poor play in front of him, Sorokin carries a .910 SV% and 3.10 GAA into this contest.
He's in particularly good form currently, allowing two or fewer goals in three of his past four starts. Over that stretch, Sorokin is 3-1 with a .929 SV% and 2.27 GAA.
This tremendous stretch is likely to continue against the Kraken, a team Sorokin is 2-1 against in his career with a stellar .945 SV% and 1.69 GAA. However, something that he is also familiar with is a lack of goal support.
This season, the Islanders rank in the bottom half of the league in goals scored per game, shots on goal per game and shooting percentage.

The main question regarding the Under in this game is goaltender Philipp Grubauer, who is slated to guard the cage for Seattle. While I don't necessarily trust him, I believe he can hang in there against a below-average Islanders offense.
Over his past six starts against New York, Grubauer is 3-2 with a commanding .925 SV% and 2.13 GAA. Considering these two offenses and the fact that Sorokin is projected to start across the ice, it's worth taking a shot on the Under at plus-money in this spot.
We could also see some particularly sluggish legs from Seattle, a team that is playing its third road game in four days and is on the second half of a back-to-back.
