The Central Division's fifth-place Dallas Stars travel to Anaheim to take on the Pacific Division's seventh-place Ducks. This is the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Will the Ducks defend home ice as the underdog, or can the Stars come into town and take care of business?

Stars Have Been Strong Road Favorites

The Dallas Stars enter this contest following Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. The Stars are not afraid of bounce-back spots as they are 8-2 over their last 10 games following a loss.

Anaheim is a great matchup for Dallas to do just that as the Stars rank higher this season in both five-on-five Expected Goals For per 60 minutes (xGF) and five-on-five Expected Goals Against per 60 minutes (xGA). Jake Oettinger is the projected starting goaltender for the Stars in this matchup and will look to continue his solid play.

This season, Oettinger boasts a 0.916 Save Percentage and a 22-11-1 record. While the Stars' record does dip when playing on the road, the losses are mainly attributed to games that they are "supposed" to lose and are priced as the underdog.

Over their last seven games as a road favorite, the Stars are 6-1. This has been a matchup that has favored the Stars over the past few seasons as they are 5-2 over their last seven meetings with Anaheim.

Ducks Looking to Snap Losing Streak

The Anaheim Ducks enter this contest in awful form as they have now lost nine straight games. While It is hockey, and anything can happen any given night, I would be shocked if they break the streak against a much more talented Dallas team.

While Anaheim has issues pretty much everywhere across the ice, the main problem has been in net. John Gibson is the projected starting goaltender for the Ducks and has been awful since the All-Star break.

Since then, Gibson is just 2-11-1 with an abysmal 0.857 Save Percentage. I do not imagine he finds a whole lot of success in turning that around against a Stars team that has averaged 3.23 goals scored per game over their last 13 contests.

Gibson probably will not get much scoring help in front of him either as the Ducks offense has gone quiet during the losing streak. Over the last eight games, Anaheim is averaging just 1.75 goals scored per game.

Stars vs. Ducks Pick

The price of the 3-way moneyline for Dallas is too good to pass up against an Anaheim team that appears to have mailed it in for the season. Anaheim can't score and can't stop getting scored on, so I am not sure what needs to happen in order for them to break the losing streak.

Dallas has more to play for, a better roster, and a better goaltender.

Pick: Dallas Stars 3-Way ML (-115) | Play up to (-125)
