For tonight's four-game NHL slate, which includes late games on TNT and ESPN+, I'm targetting two players for my NHL anytime goalscorer picks.

Betting on NHL anytime goalscorers is simple enough: If your player scores a goal at any point in the game, your bet is a winner. MLB has its dingers; the NHL has its anytime goalscorers. And with both types of player props, the bets usually come with plus-money odds attached to them, so they're a favorite among all types of sports bettors.

The second game of Wednesday's NHL doubleheader on TNT features the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Washington Capitals.

Edmonton is a massive -295 favorite at FanDuel at the time of writing, partly because this offense is slated to go against goaltender Charlie Lindgren.

Lindgren's numbers look good, but those are heavily weighted by the strong start he had to the campaign. He has now allowed three or more goals in 10 of his past 15 outings, going 6-7-2 over that stretch with a fade-worthy .893 SV% and 3.31 GAA.

It certainly has not helped Lindgren's cause that he plays behind a team that bleeds high-danger scoring chances. At 5-on-5, Washington ranks 27th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

This combination of poor defense and goaltending bodes well for the arsenal of Oilers scorers, or at least Leon Draisaitl. Entering this contest amid a three-game goal drought, Draisaitl is going to turn things around sooner rather than later.

He is one of the league's best goalscorers, and he has scored in each of the two past outings he has played in which he had not scored in the three games prior. Finally, Draisaitl scored twice in Edmonton's lone game against the Capitals earlier this season.

Lindgren was also in net for that outing.

Wednesday's NHL nightcap features a Western Conference tilt with the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Colorado Avalanche. We are going to target Colorado forward Valeri Nichushkin to find the back of the net.

Nichushkin made noise as he returned from the player's assistance program and immediately scored an overtime winner against the Minnesota Wild. Despite missing two months of play and roughly two dozen games, the guy still leads the Avs in power-play goals this season.

That's how lethal he is on the man-advantage, which could present problems for a Vancouver team that ranks in the bottom half of the league in both penalty minutes taken per game and penalty kill percentage. Backing up this defense is goaltender Casey DeSmith, who is confirmed to start between the pipes for the Canucks on Wednesday.

Through 19 appearances in the crease this season, DeSmith possesses a mere .898 SV%.

Not only did Nichushkin score in his lone game against the Canucks this season (predictably, on the power play), but he has now scored in four of his past six games against them.
