Rovell: A Valuable Wednesday NHL Parlay at BetMGM

When I see premade sportsbook parlays, I normally steer clear. They’re often tempting with the odds, but are usually one leg too long.
That being said, BetMGM is offering a home team win parlay for Wednesday that I like: For the Hurricanes, Bruins and Stars to each win (+260). It’s not a boost, but, to me, it’s just a solid play.
The Hurricanes face the Islanders at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Bruins play the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. And the Stars take on the Wild at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Each team is a home favorite in a Game 2.

Home teams thus far have gotten off to a bad start, going 2-4, but true to form, the Hurricanes and Bruins won and the Stars lost in a nail-biting double overtime.
There’s a lot to love in these teams at home.
The Bruins are an insane 34-4-3 at TD Garden, winning almost 90% of the time, an NHL record. Then we have Carolina, tied with Lightning for second-most regular season wins at home. And the Stars finished the regular season winning seven of their last 10 at home.
If you need more confidence in the Stars, they're 38-21 when favored to win this season and 26-13 when they are -150 or higher, which is their number tonight. While -150 odds imply a probability of 60% that the Stars will win tonight, that number, based on the historical data, should be closer to 64% or so. That gives the Stars ML a roughly 4% betting edge.
It’s hard to call three games, especially NHL playoff games, but I love these home teams to get it done on Tuesday night.
