Blues vs. Blackhawks Preview

The St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks will clash in a Western Conference showdown between two teams that have posted nearly identical records early in the season. St. Louis enters the contest with a 17-18-8 mark, while Chicago sits just a step behind at 17-18-7.

Veteran Robert Thomas has been a key offensive driver for the Blues, leading the team with 10 goals and 20 assists. On the other side, the Blackhawks come in riding a three-game winning streak and continue to be paced by Connor Bedard, who leads the team with 19 goals and 25 assists and may return to action later this week.

Leg 1: Blues Moneyline

I expect some regression from this Chicago team tonight. The Blackhawks continue to lack explosive offense in the absence of Bedard, and that plays into the hands of a defensively sound Blues team that matches up well in this spot.

In what projects as a tightly contested game, I trust St. Louis to generate more of the key offensive moments and do enough at both ends to come out on top.

Leg 2: Ryan Donato 2+ SOG

We’ll team up with our Action Pro Report for this prop. Donato has failed to cash in four of his last five games, but the Pro Report is firmly backing this spot tonight.

Our Action Pro Report projects 2.0 shots on goal, making this a buy-low opportunity despite the recent cold stretch.
