Capitals vs. Penguins Preview

Washington Capitals

After being one of the best teams in the East last season, Washington entered this season with expectations to compete for a Stanley Cup.

The Caps have been strong on the road so far with a 3-1-1 record, and Tom Wilson leads the squad with eight goals, including two last night against the St. Louis Blues.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Pittsburgh has been a pleasant surprise this season with one of the better records.

And after not reaching the playoffs since 2021-22, there's hope that there's one more run left in the core of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang.

This current playoff drought has been the longest in franchise history since the Penguins missed the playoffs from 2002 through 2005.

The ageless wonder in Crosby leads the team in goals with nine of the season.

Capitals vs Penguins Parlay

Leg 1: Washington Capitals Moneyline

The Caps have been sharp on the road, and with one of the deeper rosters, I think the Capitals can overtake the Penguins here.

I'm expecting some regression from Pittsburgh sooner rather than later.

Washington also matches really well against the Pens, and I fully expect it to control the pace of the game tonight.

Leg 2: Ben Kindel Over 1.5 Shots on Goal

We'll team up with our Action PRO Report for this prop tonight.

The Penguins' rookie center has racked up five goals this season and has cashed this prop in three of his previous four games.

Our Action PRO Report projects 2.4 shots on goal tonight for Kindel.

Parlay Picks:

  1. Washington Capitals Moneyline
  2. Ben Kindel Over 1.5 Shots on Goal

Parlay Odds: +198 (via FanDuel)
