World Cup Odds: Brazil Still Favored, Portugal Shorten Ahead of Quarterfinals

The 2022 World Cup has arrived at the quarterfinals stage, and fresh World Cup odds have been released ahead of Friday's matches.
Brazil were the favorites entering the tournament and they remain in that position after a dominant Round of 16 win over South Korea.
They are listed at +175 at FanDuel to win the World Cup – the only team with odds short of +200.
Those odds have shortened since the beginning of the tournament, when Brazil were listed at +400 to win. They'll face Croatia on Friday morning in the quarters.
France, the 2018 World Cup champions who weren't as highly rated by the market entering this iteration of the tournament, have moved into the second-favorite position at +400.
They were dealt some big blows prior to the tournament, as controversy surrounded the side and Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba were all ruled out due to injury. Nonetheless, Les Bleus topped their group and throttled Poland in the Round of 16.
Ahead of a blockbuster match with England, the team that opened at +750 has to like their chances.
Speaking of England, the Three Lions – who entered the World Cup with +800 odds – currently sit at +600 after a 3-0 victory over Senegal in the round of 16.
Argentina, who were priced only behind Brazil at open, haven't really seen much odds movement after shifting from a pre-tournament number of +500 to +450, where they reside at the moment. They'll face the Netherlands, who knocked out the USA in the Round of 16.
The Netherlands are listed at +1600, with little market respect behind the Oranje despite a 19-game unbeaten streak for the squad.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal – or perhaps Goncalo Ramos' Portugal – are listed at +700 after routing Switzerland 6-1. They came into the event at +1400.
Finally, Croatia, the 2018 finalists, are available at +2700, with Cinderella Story Morocco at +3500 to round things out.
The World Cup continues on Friday with two games, including Croatia vs. Brazil at 10 a.m. ET and England vs. France at 2 p.m. ET.
