The 2023 WWE Royal Rumble is set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The show is available to watch live in the United States on Peacock and elsewhere in the world on WWE Network. The kickoff show begins at 7 p.m. ET with the full pay-per-view beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
While professional wrestling doesn’t often conjure up a lot of interest in the legalized gambling world, the Royal Rumble is an exception. A quick reminder on how it works:
- The Royal Rumble includes 30 participants all vying for a shot to compete for a world championship at WrestleMania.
- Participants enter the match in timed intervals until 30 have entered the match.
- Participants are eliminated if they are thrown or fall over the top rope and have both feet touch the floor.
- The last participant left in the ring after all 30 come out is declared the winner.
There are two Royal Rumbles this year, as there have been since 2018, when the WWE held its first women’s Royal Rumble match in addition to the men’s match, which has been around since 1988.
Betting odds for the match are as of Jan. 23 and via the European sportsbook Betfair.
New to betting? Favorites have a minus (-) sign and the number indicates the money you would need to risk to win $100, whereas underdogs have a plus (+) sign while that number indicates the money you would win for every $100 bet.
Example: Roman Reigns is a +1400 underdog for the men’s Royal Rumble, which means you would net an $1,400 profit on a $100 bet if it wins. Learn more here.
2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Odds
|Stone Cold Steve Austin||+1600||5.88%|
Given that there are only 30 participants in the Royal Rumble, these lists obviously include a good number of wrestlers we won’t see on Saturday.
Given the uncertainty and last-minute changes by writers in the lead-up to the show, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen, but what we do know is that, as of this writing, 25 wrestlers have already declared themselves as having entered the Rumble. Those participants are:
- Kofi Kingston
- Santos Escobal
- Austin Theory
- Seth Rollins
- Bobby Lashley
- Baron Corbin
- Rey Mysterio
- Cody Rhodes
- Drew McIntyre
- Braun Strowman
- Karrion Kross
There are always a number of surprises, thus sportsbooks going above and beyond in listing anyone who may show up or will, at the very least, elicit some betting interest.
Another thing we don’t know, in addition to all the entrants, is the order in which they will come out. Conventional logic would assume that the later an entrant comes out, the more likely they are to win.
We have data that shows how frequently each number has won the event, so you can follow along and know which numbers might give you a better chance of winning your bet.
- 4 wins: 27, 30
- 3 wins: 1, 24
- 2 wins: 23, 19, 28, 22, 29, 2
- 1 win: 16, 10, 14, 38, 8, 5, 18, 3, 25, 13
2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Odds
|Kay Lee Ray||+5000||1.96%|
Like in the men’s version, the women’s odds include anyone and everyone who might elicit even a little bit of action.
Our data for the women’s Rumble is much shorter since the event has only been going on since 2018. The previous winners:
- 2018: Asuka
- 2019: Becky Lynch
- 2020: Charlotte Flair
- 2021: Bianca Belair
- 2022: Ronda Rousey
As of this writing, seven women have been declared as entrants in the 2023 Royal Rumble:
- Liv Morgan
- Candice LeRae
- Rhea Ripley
- Raquel Rodriguez
- Shayna Baszler
- Zelina Vega
