PartyPoker vs. WSOP Web Experience: PartyPoker vs. WSOP.com/Caesars Entertainment

  • Category: Web Experience
  • Comparison: PartyPoker vs. WSOP
  • Measured: Points System, Interface

Under Caesars Entertainment, the World Series of Poker is a major brand. The WSOP Main Event attracts tens of thousands of players from dozens of countries. Like PartyPoker, WSOP.com offers a software client for online players. Seven Card Stud is an extra game option at WSOP.com. The site also offers a plethora of promotions to keep gamblers active and engaged.

Result: The points system at both PartyPoker and WSOP remains somewhat similar. Due to its availability in other jurisdictions, WSOP.com generates more online activity.

Web experience might come down to personal preference. New Jersey players looking for a more low-key vibe might enjoy PartyPoker. Think of it like playing at a local casino rather than on a national stage.

Players in NJ get access to the best online poker brands in the business. We recommend trying both WSOP.com and PartyPoker to see which one you like best.

PartyPoker Game Selection undefined

PartyPoker Web Homepage
PartyPoker Web Homepage

Observe the PartyPoker game selection from the software client or mobile app. At the top of the Lobby, you’ll see Poker, Casino, and Promotions tabs. The other tabs include Cash, Fast Forward, Sit & Go, Spins, and Tourneys.

Cash Games

Under the Cash category you’ll find No Limit and Fixed Limit Hold’em. Plus, you may choose from Pot-Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo.

Choose from Game Type, Buy-in Range, and Seats (2-9). Buy-ins start at Micro ($10 and under) and go up to Custom ($0 - $80K). Select Filters from the right-hand side to show Format – Standard, Featured, and fastforward.

Buy-ins also include Low ($12.50 - $50), Medium ($50 - $200), and High ($250 - $1,000). There’s a High-Roller ($1,000+) option as well. Click ‘Quick Seat’ or select a Game from the screen. From there, view the Type, Stakes, Min and Max Buy-in, and Tables.

Choose to view Empty Tables and Full Tables to narrow down your selection.

Texas Hold ‘em

No Limit Texas Hold’em stands as the most popular cash game at PartyPoker. Stakes begin at $0.01/$0.02 and go up to $25/$50.

The $0.01/$0.02 tables come with a minimum buy-in of $0.60 and a $2 max. There’s a $1,500 minimum buy-in with a $5,000 max at $25/$50 cash tables.

For NL Hold’em, choose from heads-up poker or tables with up to six or nine players.

Fixed Limit tables start at $0.02/$0.04 with a $0.20 minimum buy-in. They go up to $30/$60 with a minimum buy-in of $300. You’ll find heads-up or six players max.

We recommend choosing a table that fits anywhere from 1% - 5% of your bankroll. For example, if you deposit $50 – then try Micro stakes for NL Hold’em.

For $100-$200 deposits, consider Medium stakes or below. High stakes cash games require anywhere from $150 - $1,000 bankrolls. High Roller NL Hold’em tables start at $600 and go up to $5,000.

For smaller bankrolls, we also recommend FL Hold’em tables. At the most, you’ll only need a minimum of $50 for High stakes and lower. Buy-ins range from $100-$300 for High Roller FL Hold’em tables.

When it comes to NL Hold’em at PartyPoker, you’ll find dozens of tables available at night.

Omaha

Play Pot-Limit Omaha or Omaha Hi-Lo. Stakes begin at $0.01/$0.02 for both game types. They go up to $25/$50. Minimum buy-ins start at $0.60 and go up to $5,000.

Other Micro stakes include $0.02/$0.04 and $0.05/$0.10 tables. Buy-ins range from $1.20 to $10. Low stakes range from $7.50 to $50 buy-ins. They go from $30 to $200 for Medium stakes. Buy-ins for High stakes start at $150 and reach up to $1,000.

High roller stakes begin at $750 for a minimum buy-in. Stick with tables relevant to your bankroll. With $100, go with Micro, Low, and Medium stakes. You’ll need at least $150 to play High stakes Omaha.

To get better odds, we recommend PL Omaha Hi-Lo – where split pots remain common. Play Omaha in the evening for more table options.

Multi-Table Tournaments

Click the Tourneys tab from the Poker Lobby to see all the available options. (White boxes for ‘Running’ and ‘Completed’ help to narrow it down.)

These multi-table tournaments range from 20 players (PLO) and reach up to over 150 (NLH). Buy-ins start as low as $0.01 and go all the way up to $6,000. View the details for each table including: Start, Name, Prize Pool, and Speed.

Highlight the table to see its description box on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the ‘i’ to view more tournament information. (Satellite tickets get shown here.) Buy-in ranges start at Points/Free ($0). Here are the rest of your options:

  • Super Micro ($0.01 - $0.99)
  • Micro ($1 - $4.99)
  • Low ($5 - $21.99)
  • Medium ($20 - $55)
  • High ($55 - $530)
  • High Roller ($530+)
  • Custom ($0 - $25.5K)

From there, choose from the following Format options:

  • Freezeout
  • Knockout
  • Phased
  • Re-Entry
  • Rebuy
  • Real Name

Tournament Speed options include:

  • Regular
  • Fast
  • Turbo
  • Hyper
  • Slow

Among the 77 tournaments listed during our review, we only saw seven for Omaha. Six-seat tables spread across less than 40 players.

For No Limit Hold’em, a $0.01 buy-in offered a small prize pool of $10. The winner of this Hyper speed tournament with 84 players got two $5 Satellite tickets. You’ll see that most tournaments play out via Eight Seat Tables. The GTD in the Name stands for a guaranteed prize pool.

A $5 buy-in tourney with $400 GTD finished in a little over four hours. There were 82 players. In contrast, another $5 buy-in offered $750 GTD completed with 54 players. A $10 buy-in gave a prize pool of $918 – with 102 players.

You’ll also find Deepstack tourneys and $20-$600 Satellites.

The Daily C-Note $10K GTD offered a prize pool of $12,328. With 134 players and a $100 buy-in, the tournament lasted five and a half hours. (Unlimited re-entries.)

The $215 Sunday Main $30K GTD offered a prize pool of $35,400. With 177 players, it finished after seven and a half hours. (Max re-entries: 3.)

To improve your tournament skills, we recommend playing Cash games and at Sit & Go tables.

Fastforward poker is a type of pooled cash game at PartyPoker. You’ll get moved to a different table each time you fold a hand to start anew. Other options include ‘Forward Fold’ and ‘Fold and Watch.’

Choose from Hold’em and Omaha (although we didn’t see any Omaha tables). Buy-ins begin at $3 and go up to $10 – for anywhere from one to nine seats. That means you may play Fastforward with a max total buy-in of $90.

Fastforward might serve as a decent option for players with little time to spare.

Sit and Go games come as single-table tournaments. You’ll find the following options:

  • Game Type: 1-Table, Qualifiers
  • Buy-in: $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $200, $500
  • Seats: 2-9
  • Speed: Standard, Turbo, Hyper
  • Buy-in Range: Micro ($1 - $4.99), Low ($5 - $21.99), Medium ($20 - $55), High $55+), Custom ($0 - $25.5k)

View each table Name along with its Type, Speed, Prize Pool, Players, and Status. At Turbo tables, blinds increase every few minutes. They get raised every two minutes at Hyper tables.

Play No Limit Hold’em or Pot Limit Omaha. Choose from a $1 buy-in with six players max for a $5.70 prize pool. (Buy-in $0.95 + $0.05 ante.) Or play a $500 Heads Up Turbo (NLH) with a $950 prize pool.

There’s also a $55 Winner Take All (NLH) with 10 players max for a total prize pool of $500. Learn more at the PartyPoker How To Play guide for Sit & Go Tournaments.

You’ll find other fast-paced Sit & Go options under the Spins category. These tournaments get linked to BetMGM (due to their partnership with Entain).

Prize pools for SPINS Tournaments get boosted by 2x or up to 1,200x the buy-in. For most tourneys, only the winner receives the prize pool. Multipliers at 25x and above pay each of the three spots.

Under the PartyPoker Spins tab, you’ll see four NLH options. ($1, $5, $10, and $25.) Choose your game to see the prize pool. Select the number of games you’d like to play – anywhere from one to 12.

Then click ‘Play Now.’ You may also access the Casino via the poker Lobby. Here you’ll find the same games at BetMGM’s online casino.
