Ahead of the 24th series of Strictly Come Dancing, The Action Network's supercomputer has analyzed the characteristics of the past 23 winners to identify the typical traits of a champion and determine which 2026 contestants share the most of them.
Historical Data
According to more than 20 years’ worth of data, most of the winners were born in England (21 out of 23) with only Hamza Yassin being born in Sudan and Joe McFadden being born in Scotland.
The most common occupations of the Strictly Come Dancing winners are: an actor (9 out of 23 winners), a presenter / journalist (8 out of 23 winners), an athlete (5 out of 23 winners) or a musician (4 out of 23 winners).
Friday and Saturday turned out to be the most common weekday of birth of the Strictly Come Dancing champions (5 out of 23 winners were born on a Friday and 5 on a Saturday), followed by Thursday (4 out of 23 winners).
Additionally, Pisces and Capricorn are the most common star signs of the past Strictly Come Dancing winners (4 winners each), followed by Virgo, Leo and Scorpio (3 winners each).
When looking at the typical age of the past winners, most of the champions were in their late 30s (7 out of 23 winners) or late 20s (6 out 23 winners) at the time of their win. Five champions won in their early 30s.
Lastly, “C”, “K” and “J” are the most common first name initials of the past champions – three Strictly Come Dancing champions had a name starting with “C”, three with a “K” and three of them had a name starting with “J”.
2026 Contestants & Their Winning Traits
After the supercomputer analyzed the typical traits of the past Strictly Come Dancing winners, it assigned points to the 2026 celebrity contestants to see who has the most traits of a typical SCD winner.
House of the Dragon actress Bethany Antonia was found to have the most traits of a typical Strictly Come Dancing winner, picking up 8 points from The Action Network's supercomputer – comfortably clear of the rest of the field.
Antonia is an actress, known for her role in House of the Dragon, earning her the maximum occupation score. She was born in England, another common trait of a Strictly Come Dancing champion, and on a Thursday, the third-most common birth weekday among past winners. Her star sign is Capricorn, tied for the most common sign among champions, and at 28 she falls into the "late 20s" age bracket, also among the most frequent ages for a winner at the time of their victory.
Four contestants tied for second place on 6 points each: Love Island winner Cach Mercer, television personality and actress Dani Dyer, Olympic skeleton racer Tabby Stoecker, and television presenter Will Best.
Mercer's points come from his star sign (Pisces, one of the two most common signs among winners), his age (25, placing him in the "late 20s" bracket), being born in England, and having a first name starting with "C" – one of the three most common initials among past champions.
Dyer picks up points for being an actress (in addition to her television personality work), being born on a Thursday, her star sign (Leo, one of the three secondary common signs), her age (early 30s), and being born in England.
Stoecker's tally comes from being an athlete, being born on a Friday (tied for the most common winning birth weekday), her age (late 20s), and being born in England.
Best scores for being a presenter, being born on a Thursday, his star sign (Pisces), and being born in England.
None of the four, however, match Antonia's spread across all six categories.
For that reason, The Action Network's supercomputer has given Bethany Antonia the edge and she is predicted to win the 24th season of Strictly Come Dancing.

- The list of winners and 2026 contestants was collected from the official pages of Strictly Come Dancing and their characteristics were amended from their information on Wikipedia
- The supercomputer assigned points to the 2026 contestants based on the typical characteristics of past champions in the following format:
- OCCUPATION – 2 points for being an actor, 2 points for being a presenter / journalist, 1 point for being a musician or an athlete
- WEEKDAY OF BIRTH – 2 points for being born on a Friday or a Saturday, 1 point for being born on a Thursday
- STAR SIGN – 2 points for being a Capricorn or a Pisces, 1 point for being a Virgo, a Leo or a Scorpio
- AGE (at the time of the victory) – 2 points for being in Late 20s or Late 30s, 1 point for being in Early 30s
- COUNTRY OF BIRTH -1 point for being born in England
- FIRST NAME INITIAL – 1 point for having a name starting with “C” or “J” or “K”
