Athletics vs Royals MLB Betting Preview

Athletics vs Royals Pick, Betting Analysis
Nick Kurtz, Shea Langeliers, and Tyler Soderstrom are all on the IL now as the Athletics leave Sacramento for a pitcher-friendly environment in Kansas City. Quite frankly, this projected A's lineup looks like something you’d see in Triple-A. There's no way around it: they’re the worst lineup on the slate. You could argue the Rockies are worse — they actually carry a lower expected weighted on-base average (xwOBA) in my model — but since Colorado is playing at Coors Field, the A's take the crown.
The Athletics' projected lineup has an average xwOBA of just .299. I rarely see a team unit drop below the .300 mark — it is a truly awful group. Just pull up the game preview and take a look at the names in this order.
On the other side, the Royals will want some length out of Michael Wacha tonight. Their bullpen is weak, and Wacha is the veteran in the rotation who doesn't need to be baby-faced or saved for the future. It’s a prime spot for him to pile up outs against a lineup offering zero resistance.
Pick: Michael Wacha Over 18.5 Outs
