White Sox vs Yankees MLB Betting Preview

This game triggered one of our Action PRO bet labs systems, powered by Evan Abrams:

This system fades elite teams (higher than 60% win rate) when public money is heavily skewed against the underdog (less than 35% backing).

It targets road underdogs on minor losing streaks (between one and three games) in regular-season spots.

The idea is that betting markets often overprice good teams, especially at home, creating value on contrarian visitors.

Despite a low win rate, big plus-money payouts generate positive ROI.

White Sox vs Yankees Pick, Betting Analysis

The Yankees are undoubtedly an elite team, but they're much closer to a league-average lineup with Aaron Judge sidelined. As you can see in BARTOLO (available to PRO subscribers starting tomorrow), Zerillo projects the Yankees for a 101 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, while he projects the White Sox for a 99 wRC+ against left-handed pitching (even without Munetaka Murakami).

The Yankees are especially good thanks to their top-tier rotation. However, Ryan Weathers might not be that much better than Sean Burke, given the two sport identical xERAs. Plus, Weathers has decently prominent splits (4.48 xFIP vs RHBs, 3.97 xFIP vs LHPs), and the Sox will likely have seven righties in the lineup today.

All in all, I think the White Sox should be closer to a pick 'em in this game. Plus, lest we forget, they've been awesome this season.

Pick: White Sox ML (+120 or Better)
