Dodgers vs Blue Jays Preview
The Dodgers (8-2) started this three-game series with a 14-2 win over the Blue Jays. Los Angeles has now won four games in a row, scoring 14, 8, 10, and 13 runs during this stretch. After a cold stretch against the Guardians, the bats have come alive vs. the Nationals and now the Blue Jays.
That's good news for them with their ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound. The World Series hero has gotten off to a rock-solid start, going six innings with two earned runs allowed in each of his first two outings.
It's a great matchup for Yamamoto because the Blue Jays have one of the coldest offenses in MLB right now. There's a good chance that we're going to see a quality outing of at least six innings from Yamamoto in this one.
The Blue Jays (4-6) have now lost five in a row. During this losing streak, they've scored 2, 0, 3, 4, and 1 run. The bats have been absolutely abysmal of late, especially since four of those games were against the Rockies and the White Sox, who have some of the worst pitching in the league.
With Alejandro Kirk and Addison Barger injured, the offense is also undermanned, forced to give at-bats to Tyler Heineman.
They'll send out their ace in Kevin Gausman on the mound, who is off to an incredible start, putting up a 0.75 ERA and 0.25 WHIP with zero walks and 21 strikeouts in 12 innings. However, those two matchups were against the White Sox and the Rockies, two of the league's bottom-feeders. It's going to be much tougher against a red-hot Dodgers offense.

Dodgers vs Blue Jays Picks
I'm laying the juice with the Dodgers here. I've already gone through the Blue Jays' injuries and struggles at the plate, but it's also worth noting that they're playing dysfunctional baseball right now. This includes several ill-timed errors (looking at you, Heineman), along with base-running mistakes (again, Heineman).
As a Blue Jays fan, I can tell you that this team is in a major rut right now. We need to fade them until they show signs of life, both at the plate and in the field. The pitching has been the lone bright spot so far.
I have major doubts that their ice-cold bats get on track against an NL Cy Young contender like Yamamoto. We all saw how he dominated them in the World Series.
