Venezuela Betting Preview
Luis Arraez put on a show on Saturday.
The three-time MLB batting champion has never been a power hitter, as his career season record of 10 homers (2023) proves, but he managed to hit two against Israel while adding a couple of doubles to round a 4-for-5 night, with 12 total bases, four runs scored, and five RBIs.
The final score was 11-3, behind an excellent five-inning outing from Enmanuel De Jesus.
That kind of offensive spark is what Venezuela needs to go into what's coming next with more confidence. Not only Nicaragua tonight, to keep the chance to grab Pool D's top position, but also the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, to actually end up the leader of this group.
Manager Omar Lopez gave Eugenio Suarez, Ezequiel Tovar, and Gleyber Torres a chance to start. Suarez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs batted in, while Tovar had a perfect night at the plate: 3-for-3.
Jackson Chourio, who is nursing a bruised left hand, will be evaluated again and will likely make his first appearance in this WBC edition tonight, as Lopez continues to use most of his roster to keep players fresh and engaged.
Yoendrys Gomez, a former Yankees prospect and now a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, will get the ball against Nicaragua.
Gomez has had brief stints in the majors since 2021, never reaching 12 innings total in a season at that level. However, he posted a 2.12 ERA in Triple-A in 2025, with 64 strikeouts in 46 and 2/3 innings.

Nicaragua Betting Preview
Nicaragua had one hell of a start on Friday against the Dominican Republic, entering into a back-and-forth battle for the first three innings.
They were ahead twice, 1-0 and 3-2, but ultimately the powerful Dominican lineup took over the game, after Junior Caminero's two-run homer in the sixth inning gave the favorites the lead 5-3 en route to a 12-3 final thrashing.
On Saturday, they were ahead 3-2 going into the bottom of the ninth inning when a three-run homer from Ozzie Albies flipped the game for the Netherlands.
Those efforts might be a better indicator of their threat than Sunday's contest versus Israel.
Nicaragua lost all four games in its WBC debut edition, four years ago, but has proven to be a challenging opponent in this edition.
Nicaragua could send Ronald Medrano again to the mound, after pitching just 2 and 2/3 innings in his start against the Dominican Republic, allowing three runs.

How To Bet My Venezuela vs Nicaragua Pick
Dusty Baker has given Nicaragua hope and a fighting spirit, becoming their manager after Marvin Benard, who played for him with the Giants, patiently pitched the idea of visiting the country and taking on the job.
Against Venezuela, as evidenced in their first two games, they will need more than that to avoid falling short.
Meanwhile, Venezuela has started the tournament on the right track, winning both games with ease, giving different players a chance to play and, more importantly, producing more than enough runs, a concern in previous WBC editions.
Tonight should be no exception to this, especially if they get Chourio back in the lineup.
Back Venezuela to cover the run line.
Pick: Venezuela -5.5
