10 potential assists last game in just 14 minutes is what stood out to me. The rookie is starting to be featured more off the bench and without Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, he’s been given the keys to be a floor general in non-Ant Minutes. Last game we saw a preview of what the rotation will look like. Rob was the direct substitute for Conley, and brought the ball up on almost all possessions in the 8 combined minutes to start Q2 and Q4 while Ant was resting. This will be the time period where ideally he racks up his assists. According to CourtIQ, with Gobert ON (he’s needed to mask Rob’s defense) and Ant, Conley, Randle, & Donte OFF, Dillingham has a 54.17% Assist Rate, which is the highest and biggest jump compared to anyone on the team. I think tonight with how the Bulls defend guards with Lonzo & Ayo .. the connection between Rob and Gobert will be crucial and a point of attack. Over the L12 games, the Bulls are allowing the 6th most assists per game but most importantly, the 2nd most coming at the rim per PBPStats.
