Timberwolves vs Heat NBA Preview
As of the 2026-27 season, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LaMelo Ball are a part of whatever it is we're about to see with Miami and Minnesota — so is Jonathan Kuminga… and Klay Thompson… and Tim Hardaway Jr… and Bobby Portis.
It'll be different, but these are ultimately two teams who really want (and probably expect) to make it to June, even if most onlookers don't have such expectations.
We'll get some key first looks and, more importantly, begin with mostly clean injury reports for Wednesday.
Bam Adebayo (groin), Pelle Larsson (illness) and Dru Smith (calf) all practiced Sunday and Monday, and we expect them to be active — and for the first two to play significant minutes.
For Minnesota, Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) will miss most of the season.
Timberwolves vs Heat Pick, Betting Analysis
Davion Mitchell is in line for his best season yet, and should outperform this point total before too long.
I think Mitchell averages 12-15 points per game in this system with space to operate alongside Giannis, who will handle the ball and kick out to shooters in this fast Heat offense.
Mitchell made 39.5 percent from three on 3.3 attempts per game last year while fighting for looks with Norman Powell and Tyler Herro, among other now-former Heat players.
This — on paper — is a steal to start the year.
Pick: Davion Mitchell Over 8.5 Points (-130)
