After a wild weekend of NCAA Regionals play, the college baseball field is down to 16. Only eight of them will punch tickets to Omaha for the College World Series this weekend.
After all the chaos of Regionals, only eight national seeds are left standing. Let’s dive into each Super Regional as we prepare for the biggest series of the season.

Projected Pitching Matchups for Auburn Super Regional
- Game 1: Cameron Flukey (CCU) vs. Samuel Dutton (AUB) · Friday, June 6, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 2: Jacob Morrison (CCU) vs. Cam Tilly (AUB) · Saturday, June 7, 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 (If necessary): Riley Eikhoff (CCU) vs. Christian Chatterton (AUB) · Sunday, June 8
This Super Regional series has the potential to be the most exciting, as it pits strength against strength. The Auburn Tigers slugged their way through the SEC this season and have been seeing the ball well lately.
They swept their Regional, outscoring their opposition, 28-11, over three games.
Meanwhile, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are built on their dominant pitching staff.
The Chants rank second in the nation in ERA and WHIP while showing little signs of regression. That was evident in their Conway Regional performance, as they allowed nine runs over three games while scoring 29 of their own.
Their recent results show how evenly matched these clubs are, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this series reach a third game. That's likely how I’m going to be playing this series as a whole, with Auburn being inflated on its game-by-game moneyline price.
As for each game, the over may hold value if the total for the first matchup is an indication of the respect that the Coastal Carolina pitching staff has earned.
Auburn Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Over 2.5 Games in Series (Pending line)
- Game 1: Over 10.5 -115 (bet365)
- Game 2: Coastal Carolina ML -120 or Better

No. 5 North Carolina vs. Arizona
North Carolina: -330 · Arizona: +250
Projected Pitching Matchups for Chapel Hill Super Regional
- Game 1: Jake Knapp (UNC) vs. Owen Kramkowski (ARI) · Friday, June 6, 12 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 2: Jason DeCaro (UNC) vs. Smith Bailey (ARI) · Saturday, June 7, 12 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Aidan Haugh (UNC) vs. Raul Garayzar (ARI) · Sunday, June 8
It’s clear the North Carolina Tar Heels have a big edge in this series. Their -330 series price on DraftKings indicates a 76.7% implied probability that they win this series.
The Tar Heels' path to Omaha got much easier with Oregon losing in Regionals, and now North Carolina has a sizable pitching advantage over the Arizona Wildcats.
While the Wildcats are nowhere near a bad pitching staff, they're a rung below the Tar Heels. Ultimately, UNC ranked third in ERA and eighth in WHIP, while Arizona came in at 33rd and 36th, respectively.
At the dish, both of these lineups got hot as Regionals progressed. Arizona put up 28 runs over its final two games, and the Tar Heels outscored their opponents, 38-14, over four games.
Arizona may be closer to the Tar Heels than the series price implies, but I don’t have it stealing Game 1 by any means. That puts the Wildcats in a tough spot, as the Tar Heels' pitching advantage only grows from there.
If you bought in on the Tar Heels to win the College World Series prior to Regionals, you’ve gotten value because their price now sits at +700.
However, they may still be one of the best buys on the board, as they won’t have to contend with LSU or Arkansas in pool play in the College World Series.
Chapel Hill Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Game 1: North Carolina -2.5 (-115 at bet365)
Projected Pitching Matchups for Corvallis Super Regional
- Game 1: Ethan Kleinschmit (OSU) vs. Jamie Arnold (FSU) · Friday, June 6, 6 pm ET (ESPN2)
- Game 2: Dax Whitney (OSU) vs. Joey Volini (FSU) · Saturday, June 7, 9 pm ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Nelson Keljo (OSU) vs. Wes Mendes (FSU) · Sunday, June 8
This is the one Super Regional series that's a true coin-flip.
I was not a believer in the Oregon State Beavers, but after losing their opening matchup to Saint Mary’s, they flipped the switch and outscored their opponents, 50-6, over the next four games.
However, they’ve met a great match in the Florida State Seminoles. The Seminoles rolled through their Regional, taking down Mississippi State twice.
As for this series, Game 1 will be critical and deliver a great pitching matchup with Jamie Arnold facing off against one of Oregon State’s electric arms in Ethan Kleinschmit.
If Florida State takes Game 1, it'll be in a great spot. Volini vs Whitney may be another pitching duel in Game 2, but the Seminoles have much better options in a potential Game 3.
At the plate, Florida State has the clear edge after ranking 13th in average, 16th in OPS and 38th in wRC+. Its bats should be able to break through against the Beavers' bullpen, and that may be a deciding factor in the series.
Despite crushing it in its Regional, this Florida State team will be the best opposition Oregon State has faced all season, and the Seminoles will expose the Beavers.
Corvallis Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Florida State to Win Super Regional (-110 · ESPN Bet)
- Game 1: Under 11.5 (-115 · bet365)
Projected Pitching Matchups for Louisville Super Regional
- Game 1: Patrick Forbes (LOU) vs. Griffin Hugus (MIA) · Friday, June 6, 3 pm ET (ESPN2)
- Game 2: Peter Michael (LOU) vs. AJ Ciscar (MIA) · Saturday, June 7, 11 am ET (ESPN)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Ethan Eberle (LOU) vs. Reese Lumpkin (MIA) · Sunday, June 8
Both of these teams are a surprise. The Louisville Cardinals took down No. 1 overall national seed Vanderbilt and are now hosting a Super Regional.
What got the Cardinals through the Nashville Regional was excellent pitching, as they allowed just five runs in three games. Now, their pitching is set to shine again against the Miami Hurricanes.
Miami found lightning in a bottle in Hattiesburg, bouncing back to beat Southern Miss on Monday after losing to the Golden Eagles on Sunday.
Despite containing lineups like USM and Alabama, Miami's pitching depth is a concern when matched up with Louisville.
Additionally, we should see these two teams trend in opposite directions at the plate. Miami was inconsistent this season, ranking 176th in batting average and 129th in wRC+. Meanwhile, the Cardinals sat 32nd in batting average and 53rd in wRC+.
With Miami overperforming and Louisville underperforming offensively, we should see the Cardinals pull away in this series.
Louisville Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Louisville to Win Super Regional (-160 · DraftKings)
- Game 1: Louisville -1.5 (+125 · bet365)

No. 6 Arkansas vs. No. 14 Tennessee
Arkansas: -130 · Tennessee: +100
Projected Pitching Matchups for Fayetteville Super Regional
- Game 1: Zach Root (ARK) vs. Liam Doyle (TENN) · Saturday, June 7, 5 p.m. ET (ESPN)
- Game 2: Gage Wood (ARK) vs. Marcus Phillips (TENN) · Sunday, June 8, 3 p.m. ET (ESPN)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Tate McGuire (ARK) vs. Tegan Kuhns (TENN) · Monday, June 9
This is the one Super Regional series that could vastly impact the outlook of the College World Series.
In my Knoxville Regional preview, I recommended taking a flyer on the Vols to win it all because not only can they match Arkansas in this series, but they can take down any team in the country.
But we can’t get too far ahead of ourselves, as this series is appointment television.
Game 1 will feature two of the top two pitchers in the country when Liam Doyle gets the ball for Tennessee and Zach Root starts for Arkansas.
Both are due for positive regression and will have to contend with two of the deepest lineups in the field. The Razorbacks rank second in wRC+, and the Vols aren't far behind in fourth.
If the Vols can steal Game 1 on the road, they’ll be in great shape.
Arkansas' Gage Wood has struggled down the stretch, and while the Razorbacks' bullpen has been tremendous, it’s a tough ask to contain this Tennessee lineup for 1.5 games, assuming this series goes three.
Fayetteville Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Tennessee to Win Super Regional +110 (+110 · ESPN Bet)
- Game 1: Under 11.5 (-125 · bet365)

No. 6 LSU vs. West Virginia
LSU: -400 · West Virginia: +300
Projected Pitching Matchups for Baton Rouge Super Regional
- Game 1: Kade Anderson vs. Griffin Kirn · Saturday, June 7, 2 p.m. ET (ESPN)
- Game 2: Anthony Eyanson vs. Jack Kartsonas · Sunday, June 8, 6 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Chase Shores vs. Gavin Van Kempen · Monday, June 9
The LSU Tigers got pushed to the brink in their own Regional by Little Rock. However, in the spirit of March Madness, they survived and advanced.
Now, the Tigers get to face the West Virginia Mountaineers, who swept the Clemson Regional by displaying power and solid pitching depth.
Yet, LSU may have the best 1-2 punch in the country in Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson. Those two have been dominant and should shut down the Mountaineers' lineup in a sweep.
In my Baton Rouge Regional preview, I had LSU to make the College World Series at -115. That's much better than having to lay the Super Regional series price of -400.
Baton Rouge Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Under 2.5 Games Played (Pending Line)
- Game 1: Under 11.5 (-115 · bet365)

No. 15 UCLA vs. UTSA
UCLA: -180 · UTSA: +145
Projected Pitching Matchups for Los Angeles Super Regional
- Game 1: Michael Barnett (UCLA) vs. Zach Royse (UTSA) · Saturday, June 7, 7 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
- Game 2: Landon Stump (UCLA) vs. Conor Myles (UTSA) · Sunday, June 8, 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Wylan Moss (UCLA) vs. Braylon Owens (UTSA) · Monday, June 9
While both the UCLA Bruins and UTSA Roadrunners were undervalued in their respective Regionals, this Super Regional series has the potential to be very entertaining.
It’s confirmed that the Roadrunners can swing it. They slugged their way through the Austin Regional, outscoring their opposition, 26-13, over three games.
However, the same can be said about UCLA. It put up 38 runs over three games and gave up just 14.
While the Bruins are favored to advance as hosts, I’m not sold on their pitching depth. UCLA’s staff is due for regression, holding a 5.76 xFIP and 4.19 SIERA on the season.
As for the Roadrunners, their staff is only due to get stronger with an xFIP of 4.90 and SIERA of 3.75.
At the plate, these lineups are similar. UCLA ranks 15th in wRC+, and UTSA is 11th.
These teams are much closer than the series price portrays, and there’s more than enough reason to believe UTSA is going to make a trip to Omaha.
Los Angeles Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- UTSA to Win Super Regional (+145 · DraftKings)
- Game 1: Over 12 (-115 · DraftKings)

Duke vs. Murray State
Duke: -380 · Murray State: +290
Projected Pitching Matchups for Durham Super Regional
- Game 1: Owen Proksch (DUKE) vs. Nic Schutte (MURR) · Saturday, June 7, 1 p.m. ET (ESPNU)
- Game 2: Andrew Healy (DUKE) vs. Isaac Silva (MURR) · Sunday, June 8, 12 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
- Game 3 ( If necessary): Henry Zatkowski (DUKE) vs. Kane Elmy (MURR) · Monday, June 9
The potential for this Duke team was always there on paper. Its lineup is amongst the most dangerous in the country, ranking fifth in wRC+ and 15th in OPS.
The Blue Devils picked the right time to figure things out on the mound, holding Georgia to three runs and Oklahoma State to just seven runs over two games.
They’ll need a repeat performance as they host the Murray State Racers.
The Racers just never quit in the Oxford Regional and outslugged two potent lineups in Ole Miss and Georgia Tech.
While Murray State is a dangerous offensive team in its own right, its pitching doesn't project for continued success. The Racers' staff ERA over their last 10 games came in at 7.07, and while their xFIP is 5.61, that type of pitching isn't going to work against a lineup like Duke’s.
The Blue Devils' pitching staff is due for positive regression, and we’ve started to see it against lineups tougher than the Racers'.
Murray State has been a nice story, but with Duke rounding into form, we should expect its run to end in disappointing fashion.
Durham Super Regional Picks, Predictions
- Game 1: Duke -2.5 (-130 · bet365)
- Game 2: Over 13.5 or Better
