Troy vs Ole Miss World Series Betting Preview, Pick
Through the first two days of the College World Series, I have yet to play any totals. The one big factor into totals for games at Charles Schwab Field is the wind.
The wind at this park will drastically impact scoring, and it's set to do just that in the elimination game of Bracket 1 this afternoon. Winds are projected to blow in from left center at game time with gusts ranging between 15 and 20 miles per hour.
Those gusts are more than enough to deaden flyballs and aid two solid starting pitchers. The first of those is Ole Miss's ace, Hunter Elliot. Elliot was supplanted by Rabe in the opener, who proved he earned that game.
However, having Elliot for the Rebels in this matchup is a huge edge. Elliot is the lone member of Ole Miss's 2022 national championship team, on which he rose to the occasion multiple times in Omaha.
He faces a Troy lineup that is riding incredibly high and has continued its hot hitting against West Virginia, ultimately falling short on the scoreboard.
On the other side of this pitching matchup, Troy turns to Tommy Egan, who has the best stuff on the Trojans' staff and actually has a better xFIP and SIERA than his counterpart this afternoon.
While the quality of competition faced by the two starters is quite different, Egan has shown to have Quad 1 stuff, and with the weather helping him keep the ball in the yard, this game will stay under the total.
Pick: Under 10.5 or Better
