Albany vs Bryant College Basketball Betting Preview
It’s really frustrating handicapping Albany games these days because getting injury information out of there is impossible. I have no idea if Abdoulaye Fall or Zach Matulu is playing, and I’m uncertain if Jaden Kempson is 100%.
I project the Danes as one-point favorites with an 135.7-point total.
As a result, I show some value on the Over.
Earlier in the season, Jamion Christian installed a half-decent defensive scheme designed around switching and shallow dropping his bevy of lengthy, athletic defenders. However, that defense has fallen off a cliff recently, as the Bulldogs rank dead last among AmEast teams in defensive efficiency during conference play (111). I think the injury to Quincy Allen has really hurt the Bulldogs on that end of the court, as he’s a nightmare perimeter matchup with his athleticism.
Bryant’s scheme naturally forces a high rate of isolation, which is actually a good thing for the Danes, who like to attack in isolation behind All-AmEast point guard Amir Lindsey — he dropped 21 points on 7-for-10 2-point shooting in the first meeting.
On the other end, Bryant’s offense has started to trend up lately. The Bulldogs dropped an obscene 92 points last week against New Hampshire’s half-decent stop unit. I’m hopeful they can improve immensely on their pathetic 46-point performance against Albany in the first head-to-head meeting, especially at home and with some of the Danes’ longer wing defenders potentially injured — I loathe Albany’s defense, anyway.
My Pick: Over 135 or Better
