Kansas vs Oklahoma State College Basketball Betting Preview

Kansas Basketball

Kansas started its eight game winning streak with a double-digit victory against Iowa State. The streak then ended with double-digit loss to Iowa State.

The Jayhawks now sit at 19-6 overall and 9-3 in Big 12 play.

During its eight-game winning streak, Kansas had the fourth-best defense in the country, via Bart Torvik, and ranked fourth in defensive free-throw rate (19.7%) and seventh in 2-point defense (41.9%).

In the Jayhawks' loss at Iowa State, the Cyclones shot 50% from 2-point range and had 17 free-throw attempts.

Even in the loss, Flory Bidunga continues to play at a high level. Though he shot inefficiently from the field, it was his third straight game with 10 or more rebounds and his 12th straight game with at least one block.

Melvin Council Jr. continues to be everywhere on the court. In his last seven games, Council is averaging 16.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.

As good as Tre White has been this season, he's scored six points on 1-of-9 from the field in his last two outings combined. This is a good spot for him to find his offensive groove and get back to his normal self.

Oklahoma State Basketball

Since upsetting BYU, Oklahoma State has dropped three in a row and now sits at 16-9 overall and 4-8 in the Big 12.

During its three-game skid, Oklahoma State is giving up an average of 15 offensive rebounds and has given up 89 points per game in its last four outings.

The Cowboys have the second fastest tempo in the conference, so it makes sense why they've been susceptible to giving up a lot of points. However, their offensive rebounding rate is a problem.

Anthony Roy had 30 points on 9-of-15 from the floor (5-of-10 from 3) in the win against BYU, but since then, he's averaging just 14 points per game on 32/30/60 shooting splits.

Kansas vs. Oklahoma State Betting Analysis

This is a difficult matchup for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys shoot less than 50% from 2-point range on the season and are facing a Kansas team that ranks second in the Big 12 in 2-point defense and has the best block rate in the conference.

Bidunga and Bryson Tiller have been defensive anchors for the Jayhawks and will be a tough matchup for Oklahoma State's Parsa Fallah.

Darryn Peterson is coming off his worst performance of the season, scoring 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting with zero assists to three turnovers and now gets to face an Oklahoma State defense that struggles to stop anybody.

There's no sneaky spot here, as the Jayhawks handle business on the road and get back to their winning ways.

My Pick: Kansas -7
