Over the past few years, the college football news cycle has been unending. That won't change this season.

There's a new transfer portal window, which will open up in early January, but we will still have many players declaring prior to that date.

With so many portal moves and opt-outs for so many games, it can be hard to keep track of everything going on. That's what this file is for.

Below, you'll find a running log of the all-important news for each individual bowl game.

I will continuously update this file as more news comes in regarding transfers, injuries and opt-outs for players with at least 200 snaps this season, so make sure you periodically check back if you want to double-check any game information before placing a bet.

Keep in mind, players in the portal can still play in their bowl games. This file will include injuries, declared opt-outs, potential opt-outs, coaching changes and transfer portal updates.

Many of the potential opt-outs will play, but they're worth monitoring as they declare their NFL aspirations.

It's also worth noting that Notre Dame, Kansas State, Iowa State, Florida State, Auburn, UCF, Baylor and Rutgers all declined bowl bids. As a result, Rice, Appalachian State and Mississippi State will appear in bowl games with 5-7 records.

For convenience, the bowls are listed in chronological order below.

LA Bowl: Boise State vs. Washington

Boise State Logo
Saturday, Dec. 13
8 p.m. ET
ABC
Washington Logo

Boise State Potential Opt-Outs

  • S Ty Benefield
  • LT Kage Casey

Boise State Injuries

  • CB A'Marion McCoy (missed final two games)
  • DT Dion Washington (missed finale)
  • WR Ben Ford (hasn't played since Week 7)

Starting QB Maddux Madsen returned for the Mountain West Championship.

Washington Potential Opt-Outs

  • RB Jonah Coleman
  • WR Denzel Boston
  • CB Tacario Davis

All three have dealt with injuries throughout the season and of late, but Coleman and Boston did play in the finale. Head coach Jedd Fisch said Coleman and Boston are ready to roll, but he's unsure on Davis for what it's worth.

Update: Fisch said he expects everyone to play outside of long-term injuries.

Washington Injuries

  • S Makell Esteen (missed finale)
  • OLB Isaiah Ward (last played in Week 8)
  • CB Tacario Davis (missed final two games)
  • C Landen Hatchett (hasn't played since Week 11 due to a cast on snapping hand)
  • LB Taariq Al-Uqdah (last played in Week 4)

LB Jacob Manu only played in four games to preserve his redshirt, but he would be okay to play here.

Salute to Veterans Bowl: Troy vs. Jacksonville State

ESPN
Jax State Logo

Troy Transfer Portal

  • Starting RB Tae Meadows

Troy Injuries

  • LT Elijah Prather (last played in Week 7)
  • RT Garner Langlo (last played in Week 3)
  • QB Goose Crowder

Crowder left the Sun Belt Championship with an injury and was seen on crutches. If he can't play, Tucker Kilcrease (who started seven games with Crowder out earlier this year) would start under center.

Jacksonville State Injuries

  • LG Adrian Gumm (missed finale)
  • CB Tyrin Taylor (missed finale)
  • DT Jawaun Campbell (last played in Week 11)

Cure Bowl: Old Dominion vs. USF

Old Dominion Logo
Wednesday, Dec. 17
5 p.m. ET
ESPN
USF Logo

Old Dominion Opt-Outs

  • Starting QB Colton Joseph

Joseph said he intends to sit out the bowl game, which would likely mean freshman Quinn Henicle would get the start. Henicle started one game last season vs. Arkansas State in which he rushed for over 200 yards.

Old Dominion Injuries

  • CB Botros Alisandro (last played in Week 10)

USF Potential Opt-Outs

  • QB Byrum Brown

Will he declare for the NFL draft or head to Auburn with head coach Alex Golesh? No word yet, but he did say "we have one more game" following USF's regular season finale against Rice. If Brown doesn't suit up, USF would turn to either Gaston Moore (a career backup) or talented true freshman Locklan Hewlett.

USF Injuries

  • S Tavin Ward (missed final two games)
  • CB James Chenault (last played in Week 11)
  • DE Dennard Flowers (missed finale)
  • WR Chas Nimrod (last played in Week 7)
  • WR Christian Neptune (last played in Week 12)

USF Coaching Changes

Alex Golesh is headed to Auburn along with OC Joel Gordon. They will not be with the team during bowl season.

Defensive line coach Kevin Patrick will serve as the interim following the hire of Ohio State OC Brian Hartline, who will take over as head coach next season.

With these coaching changes, there's obviously a higher risk of Bulls opt-outs, which I will update accordingly leading up to the game.

68 Ventures Bowl: Louisiana vs. Delaware

Louisiana Logo
Wednesday, Dec. 17
8:30 p.m. ET
ESPN
Delaware Logo

Louisiana Injuries

  • FS Tyree Skipper (last played in Week 11)
  • C Cooper Fordham (missed finale)

QB Lunch Winfield left the regular-season finale with a lower-body injury (Walker Howard took over), but I don't believe it was too serious. He did come back in for a play very late in the game.

Skipper has been re-instated by the league for Louisiana's bowl game after initially being suspended for the season in early November.

Delaware Injuries

  • RB Jo Silver (returned in finale, but only played 23 snaps)
  • OG Patrick Shupp (last played in Week 11)
  • WR Ja'Carree Kelly (missed finale)
  • TE Connor Witthoft (last played in Week 11)
  • LB Dillon Trainer (last played in Week 11)

  • DE Mitchell Toney (last played in Week 12)

Arkansas State Injuries

  • LG Tristian Smith (stud; last played in Week 10)

These two teams are both relatively healthy and don't have much risk of opt-outs, so I'll monitor the portal and update accordingly.

The Red Wolves do have some depth piece injuries at tight end.

  • CB Jaidyn Denis (last played in Week 10)
  • CB Chauncey Logan (last played in Week 11; hurt most of year)

  • DT Deven Eastern
  • DE Anthony Smith

Minnesota Injuries

  • CB Za'Quan Bryan (missed finale)
  • RG Marcellus Marshall (missed finale)
  • LB Matt Kingsbury (missed finale)

I'm not sure if the first two were injuries or if Minnesota just decided to play others. Head coach PJ Fleck (who is 6-0 in bowl games at Minnesota) did play some more youth toward the end of the season.

Starting CB John Nestor and starting LB Devon Williams also returned for the finale after missing the previous game due to injury.

North Texas Coaching Changes

Head coach Eric Morris took the job at Oklahoma State and will likely not be with the team for the bowl. I'd guess North Texas might have a handful of key opt-outs, with a few potentially following Morris to Stillwater, where they'd instantly start.
