  • The first weekend of bowl season featured covers by Utah State vs. North Texas, Appalachian State vs. Middle Tennessee and Eastern Michigan vs. Georgia Southern.
  • As they do every week, bettors called into the Action Network Colleges Hotline to complain about losing bets and bad beats.

Referenced in these parts as "the most wonderful time of the year," the awe-inspiring pageantry of bowl season is finally upon us. And with a few bad beats to kick things off, the Action Network Colleges Podcast Hotline was ringing off the hook this weekend.

This gambling life line is always open 24/7, and Saturday night we received rants about a North Texas no-show, a heartbreaking Georgia Southern line and enough bourbon-fueled profanity to make a NASCAR infield blush. Listeners also raged about how a heartwarming family narrative-turned-fiasco for MTSU may have ruined Christmas for a woman named Barb.

Here are just highlights from the latest batch of incensed listener voicemails!

Hear callers scream at @Stuckey2 & @_Collin1 about MTSU, North Texas + their "fictitious" Georgia Southern line.

But please… don't just listen for us.
