Week 1 was the warm-up; in Week 2, things get serious. College football keeps rolling, and this slate features several compelling matchups, whether due to elite program pedigree or desperation following disastrous openers where a win is essential to avoid total collapse.
In this breakdown, we highlight some of the top Kalshi picks you cannot miss in the coming days.
Missouri vs. Kansas
One of Friday’s most intense matchups is the cross-conference clash between the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks at David Booth Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.
Missouri enters as the favorite, holding a 67% implied probability of coming out on top. Much of those expectations stem from the last meeting between these two programs, where Missouri beat Kansas 42-31. However, that margin does not fully reflect the current reality, as both rosters appear far more evenly matched in overall talent this season.
What makes this matchup so compelling is that both teams boast explosive offensive identities and rosters packed with players eager to make a statement. Furthermore, Missouri looks slightly more vulnerable than last season, while Kansas has taken a step forward, leveling the playing field far more than Kalshi traders seem willing to believe.
That said, the Moneyline appears to be priced correctly, making Missouri a strong candidate to win outright. Laying -5.5 with the Tigers on the spread represents a solid position.
Rutgers vs. Boston College
In the sports world, few things are more enticing than two struggling teams fighting for survival. Friday's clash between Rutgers and Boston College is not the newest Hunger Games installment, but it is not far off either.
Both programs had painful season openers, dropping their Week 1 matchups in disastrous fashion. For Rutgers, the loss to UMass was so crushing that it called head coach Greg Schiano’s job security into immediate question. These storylines make the matchup a fascinating spectacle, especially if you are a neutral fan with no skin in the game.
Kalshi traders currently favor Boston College, a stance that looks entirely reasonable. However, the gap between these two programs is narrow, and a low-margin, tight game is on the horizon. Taking Boston College to cover -3.5 on the spread is a compelling position.
Regarding totals, neither offense looked good in their opening games, making Under 53.5 points a strong play.
Alabama vs. Kentucky
One of the most intriguing matchups of Week 2 features the Alabama Crimson Tide taking on the Kentucky Wildcats at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky.
On the moneyline, Kalshi traders are aligned: Alabama enters as the heavy favorite at nearly 80% implied odds. UA remains a powerhouse in college football, while the Wildcats come in as longshot underdogs who have not beaten Alabama since 1997.
However, a compelling thesis exists for a potential Kentucky upset, driven by their offensive scheme and the arrival of highly talented transfer quarterback Kenny Minchey from Notre Dame.
Another key dynamic is Alabama's recent tendency to drop games away from home, both at neutral sites and in true road environments. That road vulnerability could set the stage for a historic upset. Trading at just 22 cents, taking a flyer on Kentucky offers undeniable upside.
As for game totals, the most attractive play on the board is Under 49.5 total points.
Oklahoma vs. Michigan
The setup in this matchup closely mirrors the dynamic in Kentucky. Here too, we have a clear favorite in Oklahoma, which holds 66% of the volume on the Kalshi board.
A primary driver behind traders taking such a strong stance is the unimpressive showing by the Michigan Wolverines against the Western Michigan Broncos. Although Michigan pulled out the win, they showed very little on the field, including quarterback Bryce Underwood. The game finished with a controversial touchdown via an Underwood Hail Mary.
In this instance, I believe the moneyline is priced correctly. The Sooners look like a far more complete team and better prepared for the season ahead. That said, Yes shares on Oklahoma are trading at a steep premium, which makes them far more attractive when you also go with Oklahoma -6.5 on the spread and Over/Under 43.5 in the totals market.
