College football is back, and with a smaller Week 0 slate on tap, it's a perfect time to increase your volume with player props.
The unknowns of the early season can work to your advantage, as new schemes and roles are not always accurately reflected in these markets.
With that said, let's dive into my top three college football player props for Week 0 on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Jordan Dwyer Under 66.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Jordan Dwyer's raw 2025 numbers look tempting on the surface: 730 yards over 12 games sounds like a guy who clears 66.5 in his sleep. However, break it down, and that's actually just a 60.8 yards-per-game average, already south of this number over a full, healthy season.
"Healthy" is doing a lot of work in that sentence because Dwyer is stepping back onto the field for the first time since a foot injury ended his 2025 campaign early and cost him the Alamo Bowl.
Players coming off an injury layoff tend to get eased back in, not unleashed for a 100-yard day in a season-opening game on foreign soil.
There's also a target-share wrinkle here. Last year, Dwyer had the luxury of playing alongside Eric McAlister, TCU's All-American who soaked up the lion's share of attention from opposing defensive coordinators.
McAlister's gone to the draft now, which on paper hands Dwyer the No. 1 role, but it also means North Carolina's staff, who watched him torch them for a season-high 136 yards in last year's opener, will be building their entire defensive plan around taking him away this time.
That 136-yard game was his ceiling, not his floor. His next-best outings were 111 and 108.

Luke Weaver Under 33.5 Pass Attempts (-115)
In Luke Weaver's two starts last season at Hawaii, he threw the ball 43 and 42 times, both well north of this line, so when he's handed the keys to an offense for a full game, high-volume passing is exactly his track record.
Where the under case is the strongest is the matchup and moment. This is Weaver's first start at the FBS level outside the Mountain West, on the road, against a ranked USC team that's a significant favorite.
San Jose State is coming off a 3-9 season, and the risk of a blowout is real. When a big underdog with a first-time starter falls behind by two or three scores on the road, teams often don't ride out the aerial volume.
Instead, they lean on backup snaps, run the clock and shorten the game rather than let a new QB keep chucking it into a deficit.
San Jose State also has a legitimate ground-game answer in Jabari Bates, 7.1 yards per carry in limited 2025 action.
That gives the staff a built-in reason to keep the training wheels on Weaver and control tempo rather than ask him to throw 40-plus times behind a receiving corps that's almost entirely new transfers he's still building chemistry with.

Brady Kluse Under 40.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Brady Kluse's 2025 season was defined more than anything else by inconsistency. Over the course of the year, he cracked 30 receiving yards in a game exactly once, an 83-yard outing against Tulane that stood out because it was so far from the norm.
Most weeks, he was in the single digits or low 20s, which makes a number like 40.5 a real reach if you're just going off his production.
Layer on the fact that Memphis is running a completely different operation in 2026. New head coach Charles Huff arrived from Southern Miss and brought over 70 new players, turning over almost the entire roster.
Kluse is genuinely one of the only recognizable pieces left on offense. That kind of turnover means a new offensive coordinator in Kevin Decker and, more importantly, no named starting quarterback heading into kickoff.
Huff has deliberately withheld the depth chart with an open battle under center, which is about as clear a signal as you'll get that this passing offense isn't fully installed or settled yet.
This game doesn't have the highest total, and UNLV holds the edge in QB experience and has a legitimate workhorse back in Jai'den Thomas. The Rebels are thus expected to control the tempo.
