North Dakota State Bison Betting Preview
North Dakota State enters this matchup at 2-0 after outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 71-7.
That's going to make the Bison a pretty easy team for the market to fall in love with.
I'm willing to sell high.
NDSU beat Jacksonville State 33-7 in its opener, but the Bison generated only 362 yards and 5.2 yards per play. They also converted just 5-of-14 third downs and needed four field goals plus a defensive touchdown to get to 33.
Last week against Fordham, the final score looked even more dominant at 38-0, but NDSU averaged just 5.4 yards per play and rushed for only 3.0 yards per carry.
Quarterback Nathan Hayes has been efficient, completing 72.7% of his passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns, but the offense hasn't exactly been blowing teams off the field on a snap-to-snap basis.
Now the Bison leave the Fargodome for the first time and travel to Colorado Springs.
That's a completely different environment.

Air Force Falcons Betting Preview
Air Force couldn't have looked much better in its opener.
The Falcons shut out Duquesne 34-0 and completely controlled the game, running for 431 yards and possessing the football for nearly 41 minutes.
That wasn't built on a handful of explosives, either. This was simply a service academy offensive clinic, controlling the clock and dominating in the trenches.
Air Force had scoring drives of 13, 15, 10 and 14 plays, including possessions lasting 6:54, 8:02 and 5:30.
That's vintage Air Force football.
The Falcons are going to force NDSU to defend the option for four quarters, tackle in space and stay disciplined on the perimeter. Also, NDSU preparing for the triple-option throws a wrench in this matchup, as I feel like it is going to struggle to defend it.
That's much different than anything the Bison have seen through two weeks.
QB Liam Szarka attempted only five passes in the opener because he simply didn't need to throw. Air Force ran 78 offensive plays and averaged 5.5 yards per rush while keeping its defense off the field.
NDSU's defense has been excellent statistically, but Jacksonville State and Fordham combined to average fewer than three yards per play against the Bison.
Air Force presents a completely different schematic problem. I am not drinking the Bison Kool-Aid quite yet.
North Dakota State vs Air Force Pick, Betting Analysis
This feels like a classic spot where the brand name is carrying too much weight. Everyone needs to slow down on the NDSU hype train.
North Dakota State is still one of the premier programs in the country, but the Bison are now laying points on the road at Falcon Stadium against an Air Force team built to shorten games and control possession.
The market seems to agree.
NDSU opened around -6.5, and that number has been hammered down toward -2.5.
SP+ based projections make this game essentially a coin flip, with one model actually making Air Force a small favorite.
I think that's closer to reality.
NDSU hasn't averaged better than 5.4 yards per play in either game. Both wins have been boosted by turnovers, field position, and defensive scores.
Air Force should be able to dictate tempo, grind away with the triple-option, and make every NDSU possession matter.
Getting through the key number of three is the cherry on top, making this one of my favorites plays of the entire weekend.
I think Air Force can win this game outright, so I will happily take them with the points.
