Spread Pick: USC 1H -6.5

For the first leg, I'm backing the Trojans to cover their -6.5 first-half spread. I expect this to be a huge motivational spot for USC on homecoming weekend, especially coming off of its disappointment in Week 4.

There were high hopes for Washington heading into the season, as it's led by dual-threat quarterback Demond Williams Jr.. However, the Huskies have largely unimpressed over the first four weeks of the season.

Though Williams has shown flashes of his potential — he ranks inside the top 20 in the country with 1,129 passing yards — Washington is coming off of a 24-27 home loss to Minnesota.

Now Jedd Fisch & Co. is heading on the road for the first time this season to play USC in a game that's expected to be played at 95 degrees.

USC senior QB Jayden Maiava has been phenomenal over the Trojans’ first four games of the season, leading all of college football with 1,499 passing yards and 14 passing touchdowns.

The Hawaiian also ranks eighth in the entire country in QBR with an impressive 87.4 mark, and has a remarkably athletic receiving corps at his disposal. True freshman wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, who's racked up 372 yards (17th) and three touchdowns in his first four collegiate games, leads the way.

Expect Riley’s Trojans to be the far more prepared team ahead of Saturday’s matchup, which is why you should have confidence backing USC to cover the first-half spread.

Team Total Pick: USC Alt. Team Total Over 30.5

For the second leg, let's go with the Trojans to score at least 31 points, which is an alternate team total number with -235 juice.

Simply put, the Huskies haven't played an offense remotely close to the level of Lincoln Riley’s bunch and are coming off a loss at home to a Minnesota squad that's far inferior on offense.

After surrendering 28 points to the Gophers, bet on USC to hang 31 points on the Huskies at the very least, especially with how Maiava is currently playing heading into Week 5.
