Utah State vs New Mexico Preview

The Aggies have hit 30 points in four of the past five games.

They have a good balance with Bryson Barnes and Miles Davis on the ground. They have some explosive upside when Barnes pushes the ball downfield, ranking 11th nationally in Big Play rate.

Barnes has also smoothed over the fact that the offensive line isn’t very good.

You can fall in love with Utah State’s offense as long as you’re okay with some chaos.

I’m okay with some negative plays because the New Mexico defense is boom or bust.

The Lobos will get some sacks, but they’ll also give up home run plays — they rank 49th nationally in sacks but 132nd in Havoc.

Barnes should be able to handle the pressure. He’ll stand in, take hits, and deliver the ball downfield.

Which is what he’s done over the past few games. Barnes has been sacked 12 times over the past five games, but Utah State’s offense has averaged 38 points per game during the stretch.

Pick: Utah State TT Over 28.5 (-115, DraftKings)
