Washington vs Washington State College Football Betting Preview

Washington Huskies Betting Preview: All-Out Effort?
The Huskies are coming off a bye week and a dominant performance against FCS UC Davis. Considering they had an extra week of preparation, I'd expect an intense, inspired effort for the Apple Cup.
The offense has been sensational, and I've been extremely high on the Huskies entering the season. Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. enters the matchup completing 69% of his passes and has plenty of weapons around him.
The Huskies are No. 1 in the country in EPA/Pass and EPA/Rush. They've been a dominant offensive force, and they get the pleasure of playing a Washington State team that just allowed 59 points against North Texas last week.
Running back Jonah Coleman might be the country's most underappreciated and least talked-about player. He's averaging nearly eight yards per carry and is close to 300 yards through two games.
I would be stunned to see a sloppy effort from the Huskies here, as their offense will be firing on all cylinders with extra time to prepare.
Defensively, they've had some issues preventing explosive passes, but the Cougars offense has been abysmal all season long. Their run defense is a bit concerning, and their defensive line has some issues to sort out.
The Huskies will fare just fine in Pullman on Saturday night.

Washington State Cougars Betting Preview: Not Up to Par
If the Cougars could take last year's squad into the matchup, we'd be in line to watch a classic game. But things have gone poorly in 2025, so this is not a good matchup for them.
The Cougs got embarrassed last week against North Texas, and now they have to turn around to face an excellent Huskies team off a bye.
Both sides of the ball are a complete mess, but the defense is my biggest worry.
Defensively, Wazzu ranks outside the top 90 in most metrics, including Early Down/EPA, EPA/Rush and average third-down distance. Its opponents have been thriving in early-down situations, which will be a recipe for disaster moving forward.
The Cougars rank 116th in Success Rate allowed, which isn't exactly the best formula for stifling the country's No. 1 offense.
Quarterback Jaxon Potter has been turnover-prone through the first few games, tossing four interceptions. He's completing 69% of his throws, but those turnovers will be a death wish against the Huskies.
They will need to get the run game going to limit the Huskies' offensive possessions. But I still don't think that will be enough.
It's a shame the Cougars aren't a more competitive football team, as I think things could get ugly really quickly.

Washington vs Washington State Pick, Betting Analysis
Nothing the Cougars do on the defensive side of the ball gives me confidence that they can slow down the Huskies offense. Although Washington can absolutely win comfortably, I won't lay the large number here.
Despite the mismatch in talent, it's still worth noting that this is the Apple Cup. Both teams hate one another, and this is basically Washington State's Super Bowl.
With that in mind, I love the Huskies' team. I don't think this offense is talked about enough for how elite it is, and it should make a statement on Saturday night.
They'll be able to do whatever they want through the air or on the ground, and they will score a ton of points regardless of whether they can cover or not.
Pick: Washington Team Total Over 36 (Play to 37.5)
