NBA DFS Picks for 76ers vs. Cavaliers

Cleveland scores 119.3 points per game, which ranks as the best mark in the East. Philadelphia allows 105.2. Each of these three stars has a clear edge in that tug of war.

LeBron James: Rebounds and Assists

  • LeBron shoots 26.1% from three, so I skip his points. He still averages 7.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 33.1 minutes.
  • James grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 5 assists against Cleveland on Oct. 22. He posted 13 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists at Detroit on Wednesday.
  • Philadelphia just had a full day off before this game. That removes the back to back rest that kept him out against Charlotte.

Tyrese Maxey: Points

  • Maxey averages 28.0 points, sixth in the NBA, and shoots 48.6% from the field.
  • He scored 32 points with 6 assists against these Cavaliers on Oct. 22.
  • Maxey dropped a season high 38 against Charlotte while LeBron and Joel Embiid rested. Cleveland allows 117.1 points per game, so Maxey keeps his shot volume.

Donovan Mitchell: Points and Assists

  • Mitchell averages 22.5 points, far below last season’s 27.9. I’m buying the bounce back.
  • He scored 32 points with 10 rebounds against Philadelphia on Oct. 22 and went for 27 on 10 of 17 shooting at Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Cleveland is 3-1 at home, with its lone loss coming to the Thunder on Monday.
  • James Harden shot just 39.1% from the field through Cleveland’s first seven games, then went 5 of 16 on Wednesday, so Mitchell carries the playmaking too. He dished a season high 11 assists against Oklahoma City on Nov. 2.
  • Jarrett Allen (knee) is questionable, so check the injury report before lock.

NBA DFS Picks for Trail Blazers vs. Lakers

Portland scores 121.9 points per game, and Los Angeles scores 121.8. Portland won the first meeting 136-129, and the total sits around 232, so stack Luka and Lillard in one lineup to chase the shootout.

Damian Lillard: Three Pointers

  • Ja Morant (hamstring) and Shaedon Sharpe (meniscus) are both out, so Lillard runs the offense.
  • He scored 20 or more points in five of his first seven games, including 25 on Wednesday. He makes 2.7 threes per game but shoots just 31.7% from deep, and that number looks due to climb.
  • Los Angeles allows 14.4 threes per game. Lillard hit 4 of 8 from deep against the Lakers on Oct. 27, including the clinching three with 43 seconds left.

Luka Doncic: Points

  • Luka leads the NBA with 38.5 points per game and 5.9 threes per game.
  • He takes 23.5 shots per game and leads the league in free throw attempts, getting to the line about 10.5 times per game, which props up his floor.
  • He scored 41 against Portland on Oct. 27, then 45, 42 and 40 in his last three games (Nov. 1, Nov. 2 and Nov. 4). That’s six straight games with at least 37.
  • My math puts his averages near 66 DraftKings points per game before bonuses.
