Which Position Will Be Most Drafted?

Currently, multiple positions with a wide variety of odds are seeing minimal volume. Edge rusher (EDGE/DE) is the runaway favorite at 75%, while punter (P) and quarterback (QB) are tied for second at around 45%.

Fullback (FB) has received the most volume at $19, despite having a likelihood of just 25%. After the top-three positions mentioned above, 12 others are hovering between 23% and 31%, with "Yes" contracts sitting between 45 and 60 cents.

On the other side of the ledger, most "No" contracts are 99 cents, meaning there's not much value to be had there. This isn't surprising for a thin market, and we'd advise against buying most "No" contracts from this market.

The volatility of a thin market with multiple outcomes like this one can be overwhelming when deciding which contracts to buy. The first thing worth noting is that while it's important to consider the odds of each outcome, it won't always tell the full story.

Typically, the most drafted positions of the first round are premium positions like EDGE/DE, QB, OT (offensive tackle), CB (cornerback), and WR (wide receiver). As such, the high clip of edge rushers and defensive ends makes sense considering Arvell Reese (Ohio State), David Bailey (Texas Tech), and Rueben Bain Jr. (Miami) are seen as locks.

Behind them, the possibility of some (or all) of Keldric Faulk (Auburn), Malachi Lawrence (UCF), and Akheem Mesidor (Miami) is strong as well. On the other hand, typically strong Round 1 positions like QB are thin this year, with only Fernando Mendoza (Indiana) as a surefire pick.

Thin markets can also make very strange choices appear strong, which is why it's important to do your homework. For example, it claims there's a 45% chance of a punter being drafted in the first round, which is ridiculous considering a punter has only ever been taken once in Round 1.

When looking at the 2026 NFL Draft in particular, wide receiver appears to be the best value. A "Yes" contract can be bought for just 45 cents, and there are at least three wide receivers expected to go early. Overall, there may be as many as five.

Carnell Tate (Ohio State) headlines the position, as he's widely expected to go in the top 10. Given the glaring need at WR shared by many NFL teams with first-round picks, the likes of Makai Lemon (USC) and Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State) should follow soon after. Behind them, there are strong cases for Omar Cooper Jr. (Indiana), KC Concepcion (Texas A&M), and Denzel Boston (Washington).

When Will This Market Conclude?

According to Polymarket, this market will resolve to "Yes" for the most selected position soon after the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is complete. This means all "Yes" contracts of the winning position will cash.

In the event of a tie, the market will resolve in favor of the position that had the earliest overall pick in the 1st round draft order. If a player drafted in Round 1 is listed as playing more than one position, they will count as the first position listed in accordance with the NFL Draft Board.

If the 1st round of the 2026 NFL Draft is canceled or not completed by May 30, 2026 (11:59 PM ET), this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the NFL; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
