Colts vs 49ers Preview, Parlay Picks

The Indianapolis Colts will host the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

Veteran signal-caller Philip Rivers has made headlines over the last couple of weeks. The future Hall of Famer returned to the Colts after injuries to starting quarterback Daniel Jones and backup Riley Leonard.

Rivers was impressive in his return to the NFL, throwing for 120 yards in a near upset of the Seattle Seahawks. The Colts, however, enter the game with an 8-6 record and have lost four straight games.

San Francisco comes in at 10-4. Kyle Shanahan’s team has won four straight games and controls its own destiny to win the NFC West and earn the division’s No. 1 seed. The 49ers will face the Chicago Bears and Seahawks in the final two weeks of the season.

Brock Purdy has thrown for 1,442 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in six games.

I expect the Colts’ offense to struggle to string together drives as San Francisco ranks 11th in points allowed per game (20.9).

Brock Purdy and the 49ers’ offense have been on a roll lately and now run into a Colts defense that has allowed 23 points or more in four of its last six games.

The 49ers have played well on the road this year, posting a 6-2 record straight up (SU). And since Purdy returned to action, the 49ers are 4-0 SU and against the spread (ATS), winning each game by doubled digits.

The game script should bode well for this prop, given that the Colts are likely to play most of the game from behind as 5.5-point underdogs.

The Colts’ playbook should open up a bit against a weaker 49ers defense, and Michael Pittman Jr. should earn more opportunities in the passing game. The former USC standout has cashed this prop in 11-of-13 games this season.

Our Action Pro Report projects 41 receiving yards for Pittman.
