Denver Broncos Betting Preview: Sean Payton Takes Over

The Broncos' defense is not their usual formidable self entering Week 5.

Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss both missed practice this week, meaning the Broncos could be down both of their starting boundary cornerbacks. Pat Bryant is also dealing with an injury on the offensive side of the ball.

Bo Nix has been incredibly clutch late in games to steal wins, but the playcalling in Denver has been highly questionable, adding unnecessary variance to their offensive output. Head coach Sean Payton is taking over the offensive playcalling from Davis Webb after four games.

There's a world where the Broncos are 0-4 if the ball bounced slightly differently in tight games against the Rams and Jaguars.

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview: Admirable Resilience

The Chargers just played a brutal game against the Seahawks where there were 280 penalty yards, continuing their sloppy season.

Los Angeles' injury report is littered with players — notably, we don't know who is going to be playing on the offensive line, and Ladd McConkey's status is completely up in the air.

However, despite failing to live up to preseason expectations, they Chargers have shown an admirable level of resilience. The Bolts didn't quit when they trailed early in their recent road games against Buffalo and Seattle.

This Los Angeles team keeps fighting, and it is stepping into a spot against a Denver defense dealing with some crushing injuries in the secondary.

Broncos vs Chargers Prediction, Betting Analysis

I am taking the Chargers on the moneyline here. This is a pure variance game.

The Broncos defense is in trouble without Patrick Surtain, and the Chargers have quietly been resilient despite their own injuries and everything seemingly going against them through four weeks.

In a game with this much uncertainty and questionable coaching decisions on the Denver sideline, the value likely lies with the Chargers as home underdogs in this spot.

Pick: Chargers Moneyline (+152)
