The New York Giants enter the 2020 NFL Draft with nine total picks, including the fourth overall selection following a 4-12 campaign in 2019.
In a draft class rich in talent at offensive tackle, the Giants could have their pick of the top prospects to protect their 2019 first-rounder Daniel Jones. Our in-house draft analyst Matthew Freedman has mocked former Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs to New York with the team's first-round selection.
The Giants will have a long break between picks after going 36th overall as they traded away their third-rounder (No. 68) to the Jets. But thanks to a compensatory pick at No. 99, it will be only 63 picks between when the Giants are on the clock next vs. what could have been 74.
Here's a quick breakdown of the Giants' overall draft profile:
- Total number of 2020 picks: 9
- Number of 2020 picks traded away: 1
- Number of 2020 picks acquired via trade: 1
- Number of 2020 compensatory picks: 2
