For my top Jets vs Patriots NFL PrizePicks and Underdog plays, I’m highlighting TreVeyon Henderson, Nick Folk and Mack Hollins.
We finally got the breakout performance from rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson on Sunday, when he exploded for 147 yards and two touchdowns on the ground — but tonight, we should see him be more involved through the air.
Two weeks ago, in his first start after Rhamondre Stevenson's injury, we saw the Patriots feed Henderson the ball in space, as he has big-play potential in those opportunities.
Overall, he has five receptions on seven targets in his two games as the lead back, and we should see him regress to the mean in receptions tonight, which will put him above this mark.
Next, we switch sides and turn our attention to Jets kicker Nick Folk.
The Jets have struggled mightily to convert in the red zone this season; they rank 23rd in red-zone scoring rate and 26th in touchdowns per game.
Their ineffectiveness on the opponent's side of the field has made Folk a big part of the team's scoring. He has surpassed this total in 8-of-10 games, averaging 7.2 kicking points.
With struggles on the ground expected in this matchup, we should see the Jets have multiple drives stall, which will open the door for two field goals from Folk.
Lastly, we get to fade the hype on Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins.
Hollins is a journeyman receiver who's flashed plenty of times throughout his career, and last week was no exception.
Hollins racked up 106 yards on six receptions against the Buccaneers. His role expanded with Kayshon Boutte's absence, and while Boutte will be out again tonight, consistency has held Hollins back all these years.
We have not seen Hollins be a consistent target in this offense, and his usage is up in the air tonight. Behind Stefon Diggs, Hollins is just one of the many mouths to feed.
The Jets secondary has been solid, ranking sixth in opponent completion percentage and 10th in yards per pass allowed. We shouldn't see any big plays to Hollins tonight.
