The Cincinnati Bengals missed the playoffs for a third straight year in 2025, and this time there was no sugarcoating it. A 6-11 finish followed back-to-back 9-8 seasons and marked the franchise's worst record since 2020. Joe Burrow was again the fulcrum: a turf toe injury landed him on injured reserve, and Cincinnati went 1-8 without him before he returned on Thanksgiving night to upset Baltimore 32-14.

Taylor enters year eight squarely on the hot seat — the pressure has simply shifted from who's calling the plays to who's executing them. 

Cincinnati answered with the most expensive offseason of any NFL team, and nearly all of it went to the front seven. The Bengals shipped their first-round pick to the Giants for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II and added Jonathan Allen, edge rusher Boye Mafe off Seattle's Super Bowl run, and safety Bryan Cook in free agency, later bringing in safety Kyle Dugger and re-signing Joe Flacco as Burrow's backup. 

The offsetting loss is significant: sack leader Trey Hendrickson departed for division rival Baltimore. With no first-rounder, the draft started at pick 41. 

The Bengals open at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 13 for their annual Open In Orange game, then hit the road to Houston and Pittsburgh in Weeks 2 and 3.

The minus (-) plus (+) signs distinguish the favorite from the underdog, making Kansas City the favorite in this scenario.
