The Kansas City Chiefs have clinched their spot in the the Super Bowl with a 17-10 win in the AFC Championship. Either the Detroit Lions or the San Francisco 49ers will represent the NFC at Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

This matchup had the second-shortest odds entering the Conference Championship round at +260 odds. These teams met in the Super Bowl in 2020 in a thriller that the Chiefs won. However, if we get a rematch in the Super Bowl, the Niners would be the favorites.

This was the most unlikely matchup of the four potential Super Bowl pairings entering the Conference Championship games since the Lions and Chiefs were both road underdogs. If these two teams meet, it will be a rematch of the NFL season opener from this September. Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes have only met twice in their careers, but Goff has the edge with a win this season and one in 2019 with the Los Angles Rams.
