Titans vs Texans NFL Week 4 Preview

I'm taking the over in Titans-Texans this week.

Here's the thing with these games: we've all been tempted to bet the under when a pair of offenses are struggling like the Texans and Titans right now.

The issue here is, though, when you have offenses that are struggling at the magnitude of these two units, the ball doesn't move and it actually leads to more offensive drives for both teams, and can sometimes lead to more scoring than expected.

The Texans rank dead last in points per drive at 1.22, and the Titans are fifth-worst at 1.5.

So, if these offenses keep struggling like they did in the first three weeks of the season, both teams are going to have plenty of opportunities to score, and eventually something's going to give.

CJ Stroud and the Texans' offensive line simply isn't getting the job done right now. But that may change against a Tennessee defensive front that has struggled to generate pressure so far this season.

The Texans' defense spent long chunks of time on the field in matchups against the Rams and Buccaneers, which is to be expected against a pair of solid offenses capable of sustaining drives, with quarterbacks that don't turn the ball over much.

Looking at the Titans, they average 19.6 yards per drive on the offensive side of the ball, the second-worst mark in the league.

So, if the Texans are stopping Tennessee's offense at a similar rate in this game, Houston is going to get the ball in scoring position a lot more.

I think this game is mostly going to be played close to the end zones, especially with Cam Ward having some turnover and sack issues thus far.

Titans vs Texans Prediction, Betting Analysis

I like the over in this Week 4 matchup.

After falling to the Broncos by a score of 20-12 in their season-opener, the Titans then went on to lose to the Rams by a score of 33-19, followed by a loss to the Colts by a score of 41-20 — two high-scoring games.

So, I think we'll see the Titans send us over this number one way or another; whether it's by way of bad defense, mistakes on offense, or whatever it may be.

Plus, the Texans have nowhere left to go but up on offense. So, I'll take the over here.

Pick: Over 39.5 (-110)

Spread

I'm not betting either side of the spread in this matchup.

Moneyline

I will also be steering clear of the moneyline market.

Over/Under

My Texans vs. Titans betting prediction is on the over at 39.5 total points.
