  • After cashing a +1000 same game parlay for Game 3 of Avalanche vs. Kraken, Nicholas Martin is back with another same game parlay for Game 4.
  • He is backing another high scoring matchup tonight, and he also has another same game parlay ready for Maple Leafs vs. Lightning.
  • Find his picks and analysis below.

Saturday's Game between the Kraken and Avalanche paid off for us with one of our two SGPs cashing at +1000. I like the chances we see another high scoring matchup in which the top stars are productive, so we will try our hand in Seattle for our first look.

Game 4 between Toronto and Tampa Bay should be extremely entertaining as well, and I think our longshot targeting the Lightning's top players is certainly live.

I'll note that on bet365 saves, shots on goal and blocks count for same-game parlays in games going past regulation. Despite using the phrase "anytime," goals do not count for anytime scorer markets if they come past regulation, which would be a much more user friendly term for bet365's goalscorer markets. Assists recorded on overtime winners will count toward point and assist markets, however.

Same-Game Parlay: Avalanche vs. Kraken

The Parlay (+1100 at bet365):

  • Over 5.5 Goals
  • Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer
  • Jared McCann Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
  • Jared McCann Anytime Goalscorer
  • Cale Makar Over 0.5 Points

I continue to believe that this matchup sets up to be more high scoring than oddsmakers are expecting. The game total for this matchup is six, and I like the game to head over that mark.

The Kraken are generating some really dangerous chances at even strength in this series, which is not necessarily surprising considered they scored the most even strength goals in the league in the regular season.

Avs goalie Alexandar Georgiev has not looked overly sharp in the series thus far, and I like the chances the Kraken can manage three goals again.

The Avs' superstars will still likely allow them to win this matchup and score four or more goals themselves. Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar have all been extremely threatening and should be relied upon heavily again tonight.

When the Avs' top players are not on the ice, they are not faring overly well, but when MacKinnon and the like are on the ice, they are generating chances at will. That sets up for another reasonably close game, which could feature a great game script for longshot parlays.

Nathan MacKinnon Anytime Goalscorer

MacKinnon was comically dominant in Game 3 and at times was essentially just toying with the Kraken in the offensive zone en route to two goals and five shots on target.

He is generating tons of legitimate chances to score and is not simply peppering useless Shots on Goal. Philipp Grubauer has looked relatively out of sorts since Game 1's surprisingly strong performance. He looks small in his net on midrange attempts at goal and has been down in his butterfly too early on a number of those chances. MacKinnon will likely turn another of what will surely be many scoring opportunities into a goal.

Jared McCann Anytime Goalscorer & Over 2.5 Shots on Goal

McCann and the Kraken's top line was more noticeable in Game 3. He ripped a shot from the inner slot off of Alexandar Georgiev's knob late in the third and collected an assist on Matty Beniers's even strength tally.

McCann was scorching hot to finish the season and ultimately ended up recording the first 40-goal campaign in Kraken history.

In a near do-or-die spot tonight, the Kraken's top line of him, Jordan Eberle, Beniers could play crazy minutes down the stretch.

Seattle is being a little undervalued to generate offense in this matchup, and I like targeting one goalscorer from the Kraken as a competitive game will help our chances significantly of getting this longshot ticket to the window.

Why not target the best scorer on the team after he looked fine in Game 3 and could be due to leave his mark on this series.

Cale Makar Over 0.5 Points

Makar has clearly taken his game to another level compared to what we saw late in an injury-plagued regular season. He was the MVP of last year's playoffs in Colorado's Cup victory, so that is by no means surprising.

Makar, MacKinnon, and Mikko Rantanen will continue to torture the Kraken both at even strength and on the powerplay in this matchup. If you wanted to make this an extremely long number, adding Makar shots, Rantanen shots or Rantanen goal as well could be very valid.

The depth of Colorado's roster has not looked overly strong in this series. That weakness is forcing Makar, MacKinnon and Rantanen to play big minutes and steal games that would otherwise be tightly contested.

If Valeri Nichushkin remains sidelined from the lineup for personal reasons, that is actually a bonus to all of our Avs props and this entire parlay, as it will likely mean a closer game where MacKinnon and Makar are even more likely to skate huge minutes.

Bonus SGP: Leafs vs. Lightning

The Parlay (+1100 at bet365):

  • Lightning Moneyline
  • Nikita Kucherov Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
  • Steven Stamkos Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
  • William Nylander Over 3.5 Shots on Goal

Tampa Bay's top line of Brayden Point, Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov was entirely dominant in Saturday's overtime loss. They played to a 90.3 Expected Goals rating and generated 30 attempts on goal.

I like the chances that Tampa's top line has a big night tonight and carries its team to a very important victory and avoid a 3-1 hole.

William Nylander continues to quietly be the best playoff performer out of the Leafs' core four forwards. He’s got two goals and four points in the first three games of the series and has looked very dynamic at even strength. He has generated 13 Shots on Goal and is my favorite Leafs shot target in this matchup.
