Avalanche vs. Blue Jackets Preview, Prediction
By Dana Forden
I am going back to this pick, choosing the under on Gabriel Landeskog's shots on goal. Between last playoffs, preseason and this regular season, we now have 19 games for Landeskog since his three-year injury hiatus, and I think it's safe to say that the 33-year-old is not the same player.
His shot rate is down significantly, but more importantly, the role is way down. He was a regular on PP1 (first power play unit), but now he is on the seldom-used PP2, and overall, his minutes have dropped from 20 per game pre-injury to under 14 now.
The Swedish left-winger missed practice yesterday for a maintenance day, but from reading the tea leaves, it seems like he might be getting moved from the second line to the third line tonight as well.
Best Bet: Gabriel Landeskog Under 1.5 Shots On Goal (+130, bet365)
