Hurricanes vs. Capitals Preview

By Dana Forden

The Hurricanes are a death matchup for opposing defensemen getting shots on goal.

They have been the best team in the league when it comes to limiting shots overall both this season and last season, and when it comes to opposing defensemen, they get even better. During the regular season, they allowed opposing defensemen shots at a rate less than 75% of the league average.

On top of that, we really saw Chychrun's attempted shot rate fall off a cliff in the first round of the playoffs. In the regular season, he averaged 5.88 attempted shots per 20 minutes. In the playoffs, it has been 2.73.

Best Bet: Jakob Chychrun Under 2.5 Shots on Goal
