Check out a same-game parlay (SGP) for Stars vs. Oilers as Tony Sartori makes his NHL predictions for Game 4.

Game 4 of this competitive Western Conference Final will get underway on Wednesday (8:30 p.m. ET, TNT & truTV) at Rogers Place in Edmonton with the Dallas Stars vs. Edmonton Oilers.

The latest Stars vs. Oilers odds have Edmonton priced as a moderate -130 favorite while the over/under is set at 5.5 for tonight's clash in Canada.

Find out how I am tackling Game 4 with a +1042 SGP at FanDuel as I make a Stars vs. Oilers SGP pick for Wednesday.

NHL Predictions: SGP for Stars vs. Oilers Game 4

My Stars vs. Oilers same-game parlay for Game 4 is a three-legger and will focus on the total and two player props.

The SGP's trio of bets includes:

  • Over 5.5 (-128)
  • Connor McDavid Anytime Goalscorer (+145)
  • Jason Robertson Anytime Goalscorer (+280)

Over 5.5

There were eight total goals scored in Game 3, and I expect to see a similarly high-scoring affair in Game 4 (check out our full Dallas vs. Edmonton Game 4 preview from my colleague Ryan Dadoun).

My main reasoning for targeting the over is that goaltender Stuart Skinner is confirmed to start once again for Edmonton.

Skinner got lit up on Monday, surrendering four goals on 21 shots for a mere .810 SV%. He now possesses a .885 SV% through 13 starts this postseason, and I know the Oilers don't have another option, but Skinner is not a Cup-winning-caliber netminder.

These woes are likely to continue against Dallas, a team he is 3-4 against through seven career meetings with a .895 SV%. Now, it certainly doesn't help Skinner's cause that he plays behind a defensively poor blue line.

Among the 16 playoff teams this postseason, at 5-on-5, Edmonton ranks 12th in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60). I could see the Stars putting up five goals themselves once again, which means we would only need one or two from Connor McDavid and company.

Connor McDavid Anytime Goalscorer

Speaking of McDavid, he finally looked like his usual self in Game 3. While it is unverified, I believe there was a lot of truth to the rumors that McDavid got hurt in Game 2 of the Vancouver series, which is why he has not been able to get any mustard on his shots and was a pass-first player for the rest of that round.

However, he is beginning to look like the McDavid-of-old once again, scoring twice over the past three games while adding 11 shots on goal in the process. I think he's finally getting healthy again: he's shooting more, his shots have more power on them and he isn't solely looking to pass every time he touches the puck.

Yes, the Stars are an incredibly difficult team to score on, but McDavid has scored in five of his past 10 games against them.

Robertson Anytime Goalscorer

A guy scoring from each team obviously has a high correlation to the "Over 5.5 Goals" prop from the first section. While McDavid looks healthier once again, Dallas has also received a health boost to the lineup with the return of forward Roope Hintz.

The biggest beneficiary of Hintz's return? His linemate Jason Robertson.

Robertson failed to score in the first two games of this series, but as soon as Hintz returned, the former recorded a hat trick. This is not a coincidence; Hintz assisted on two of those three goals.

I trust many guys in this lineup to take advantage of Skinner, but with Hintz's return, Robertson should be a good candidate to back once again.
