New York, NY — The Action Network hired veteran marketing executive John Hession as Vice President of Growth. Hession joins The Action Network from Gametime United, where he was most recently the Vice President of Growth.

Hession joined Gametime pre-series A funding and was instrumental in growing the business from its infancy to over hundreds of millions in gross sales. Prior to Gametime, Hession held several key client-facing strategic positions in the fast-growing mobile advertising industry.

“John is a world-class growth marketing executive and we are confident he will lead the next chapter of The Action Network's subscriber and audience growth," said The Action Network’s CEO Patrick Keane. "John's experience building and leading marketing and customer retention at consumer companies like Gametime will be instrumental for our future growth.”

“I have always been driven by high-growth consumer-facing platforms at the intersection of sports and data,” says Hession.

The Action Network’s aim is to make sports betting — the data and content around it — accessible to sports bettors, fantasy bettors, and fans alike. With the legal and regulatory landscape evolving each week, The Action Network is poised to become the leading reference brand in this space, and has seen great traction in the market thus far.

“I am excited to help grow a company with near infinite market and consumer appetite for exceptional content and data in the fast-growing legal sports betting industry,” says Hession.

Hession will be based in The Action Network’s San Francisco office.
