World Cup quarterfinal action wraps up tonight as defending champion Argentina takes on a disciplined Swiss side in Kansas City, Mo.
Argentina vs. Switzerland odds – with Lionel Messi the premier attraction – are drawing plenty of wagers at sportsbooks nationwide, for a 9 p.m. ET kickoff.
Read on for more from BetMGM on how wagering sits for Switzerland vs. Argentina odds.
Argentina vs. Switzerland Betting Trends & Odds
As of 1 p.m. ET Saturday (eight hours before kickoff), BetMGM’s three-way moneyline sits at Argentina -145 / Switzerland +450 / Draw +240. This shows almost no movement from the opening line of Argentina -145 / Switzerland +425 / Draw +250.
But make no mistake, it’s one-way traffic on Messi & Co.
Argentina is attracting 68% of bets and a hefty 91% of money at BetMGM. Switzerland is netting 25% of bets, but just 7% of money, while Draw is picking up the scraps at 7% of bets/2% of money.
“Just like every other soccer game, we will need a draw at the end of 90 minutes,” BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said.
From there, the book would prefer an upset that sends the Swiss to the semifinals. The To Advance odds suggest that’s unlikely, though, with Argentina -300 and Switzerland +230.
BetMGM’s total is at 2.5 (Under -165), after opening at 2.5 (Under -155). A low-scoring affair is expected, but action is solidly on the Over, at 75% of bets/73% of money.
