Leeds United vs. Aston Villa
Aston Villa's last-minute victory against Brighton allowed it to capitalize on Chelsea and Manchester United's dropped points, granting it a five-point cushion in fourth place. Yet, with only four goals in its last six league outings—the second-lowest tally behind Wolves (2)— Villa needs to build momentum.
Only Manchester City and Manchester United have lost fewer Premier League games than Leeds since December. However, the Whites continue to struggle on the road, winning just once in their last 18 Premier League away games.
While Villa is expected to have the advantage on Saturday, the match might not feature many goals. Aston Villa's last three home fixtures have yielded just one goal, and its largely positive xG (expected goals) tally of +4.99 across the season suggests the hosts can be clinical in front of goal but have often overperformed.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals
Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Brentford
Brentford have lost only 2 of their last 11 league matches, andcan legitimately aim for European competition qualification next season, having picked up 20 points in their last 10 Premier League matches, as many as they won in their first 16 games this season.
Meanwhile, Brighton has secured just one victory in their last 13 Premier League outings. Its last two Premier League games have ended in 1-0 defeats, marking the second time this season they’ve failed to score in consecutive games.
According to our in-house model BETSiE, there is a 56.2% probability that both teams will score. Moreover, although Brentford is the favorite, it has won only one home game this year, 1-0.
Pick: Both Teams To Score – Yes and Over 2.5 Goals
Burnley vs. Chelsea
Chelsea allowed a comfortable 2-0 lead to slip away last Tuesday when they were pegged back to 2-2 by Leeds at Stamford Bridge in just six minutes. The Blues have now dropped 17 points from winning positions this season, the fourth most in the Premier League.
However, when it comes to scoring, Chelsea is typically a reliable team for bettors, as no team has scored in more Premier League games this season (24). The Blues’ only two blanks came in goalless draws against Crystal Palace in August and Bournemouth in December.
For Burnley, the 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace was their first after seven away games in which they only collected two points. Despite its poor standing, sitting in second-to-last place, there seems to be a glimmer of hope for Burnley in the fight for survival.
Scott Parker's team hasn’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 23 Premier League away games, but a goal for the visitors at Stamford Bridge cannot be ruled out.
Pick: Chelsea To Win and Both Teams To Score – Yes
AFC Bournemouth vs. West Ham United
West Ham will be targeting victories at home as it aims to climb out of the relegation zone. The team has earned four points from its last two matches at the London Stadium and scored 15 goals in its last nine home league matches.
Both teams have scored in five of West Ham’s last six matches in the Premier League, the exception being the 2-0 away win over Burnley, who are one of only two teams in the division that have scored less than a goal per game.
Bournemouth matches have seen the most goals in the Premier League, averaging 3.38 per game. This bet has won in 11 of its last 12 matches across all competitions. The Cherries average a whopping 4.15 away league games. They face a West Ham side whose home matches have seen the joint-most goals, averaging 3.38, so this match looks set to be a goal-fest.
Pick: Both Teams To Score – Yes
Newcastle United vs. Manchester City
Bookmakers expect a Manchester City win here, and it makes sense. Pep Guardiola's team has won 10 of 13 Premier League home games so far, losing just once, for the joint-most points at home alongside Arsenal (32).
The scheduling is also in the Skyblues favor. Newcastle endured a trip to Azerbaijan on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League. That’s roughly an 11-hour round trip, with a likely intense 90 minutes in between. On the other hand, City has the whole week to rest, recuperate, and plan for Eddie Howe’s men.
A professional City victory, but not one that blows Newcastle away, is expected here. City has only scored four or more goals in one of those ten games, so this pick might be a shrewd way to get the home team onside if you believe this will be a home win.
