David Goffin is back in form and playing some excellent tennis here at the All England Club.

After taking out a strong-looking Ugo Humbert, the Belgian will now face off with American Frances Tiafoe.

Tiafoe has been excellent in his own right and comes in off the back of an inspired performance against Alexander Bublik.

Will the American be good enough for Goffin? Let's go through this one.

Goffin Fully Healthy And Thriving

Goffin, now 31, appears to be fully recovered from the freak eye injury which derailed his career for a brief period.

The Belgian, who last played Wimbledon in 2019 and made the quarterfinal, will be looking for a repeat result here against Tiafoe.

Goffin was very solid on clay this year with a 14-5 record before backing that form up here on the grass. After losing to World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in Halle, the veteran has now run through Radu Albot, Sebastian Baez and Humbert with just one set lost.

In his win over Humbert, Goffin was exceptional. He chased down some devastating groundstrokes from Humbert to neutralize the power of the Frenchman, but it should be said that Humbert was incredibly hesitant to finish points at the net.

Tiafoe Looking To Continue Good Form

It's been ho hum from the 24-year-old of late. After a miserable start to the season, Tiafoe found an ATP 250 final appearance in Estoril back at the start of May and has quickly picked things up on the clay after a second-round exit at Roland Garros against none other than Goffin.

Tiafoe defeated Carlos Alcaraz at an exhibition tournament before ripping through a couple of clay-courters here at Wimbledon and a very tricky Bublik in a fourth-round victory.

In that match, Tiafoe pretty much dominated one of the most in-form grass players in the world after a shaky start to the match which saw him gift a break away.

Though he had a couple of issues holding onto leads, it should be said that he was the better player after falling behind early in the first.

Tiafoe has a ton of power behind his forehand and serve, making him a dangerous grass-court player. Between this year's matches and last year's season which began with a title at the Nottingham Challenger, Tiafoe is now 14-5 on grass since the summer of 2021.

Betting Value

Tiafoe is excellent on grass, which allows me to say that the match between the two at Roland Garros won't exactly indicate the outcome of this one.

Though Tiafoe has worked hard and improved his clay-court game, he's far more lethal on a surface like this which rewards his power.

Tiafoe beat Goffin on the hard courts in Miami in 2019 the last time they met off of clay which more accurately represents where Tiafoe is coming into this match.

I also think Humbert should have won Friday's encounter with so many devastating groundstrokes to the back of the court, but his inability to come forward doomed him and let Goffin run down all of his balls.

Tiafoe is excellent around the net and will be able to quickly put away the Belgian.

Pick: Tiafoe ML -110
