Fever vs. Aces Preview
The Fever pulled off a sizeable upset in Game 1, but did so in style as they put up 89 points while containing A'ja Wilson and the Aces to just 73 points. That mark is the lowest point total for the Aces since August 2nd against the Lynx.
We should expect the Fever's stellar play on the defensive end to continue as it's their calling card. Indiana has been especially tough on guards, as they rank first in assists allowed and sixth in points allowed per game.
The Fever's defense has contained the Aces' point guard, Chelsea Gray, multiple times this season. This was also the case in Game 1, but the struggles of Wilson forced Gray to have a higher shot volume from downtown.
She went 2-of-5 from beyond the arc, which is atypical of her as she only averages three attempts per game and is a 27 percent 3-point shooter.
Fever vs. Aces Prediction
Indiana will continue to be a tough matchup for Gray tonight, as they are excellent at defending shots from downtown, and Gray is likely to regress in both shot volume and makes.
Additionally, with the Fever containing Wilson, Gray's main avenue for assists is limited, and so may be many of her options considering the Fever's ability to minimize assists.
All signs point to Gray staying under her Points+Assists total in Game 2.
